Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Azure Data Engineer with strong expertise in Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Data Lake, Kafka, Spark, SQL, Python, and PySpark. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing and developing scalable batch and real-time data pipelines, implementing Data Lake/Lakehouse architectures, and supporting large-scale data engineering initiatives.
Experience with Big Data/Cloudera, PostgreSQL migration to Azure Cloud, data migration using APIs, and enterprise data integration tools is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain batch and streaming data pipelines using Microsoft Azure, Azure Databricks, and Kafka.
  • Develop scalable ETL/ELT solutions using Apache Spark, SQL, Python/PySpark, or Scala.
  • Implement and support Data Lake and Lakehouse architectures using Azure and Databricks.
  • Integrate data from legacy and modern platforms into Azure cloud environments.
  • Support PostgreSQL database migration to Azure Cloud and develop migration strategies for enterprise data platforms.
  • Implement data migration and integration solutions using APIs.
  • Apply data quality checks and support data governance activities including metadata, lineage, and access controls.
  • Optimize Spark jobs for performance, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
  • Develop and support batch and real-time data ingestion pipelines.
  • Work with Kafka and Big Data processing frameworks for high-volume data ingestion and streaming workloads.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Admin Teams, Business Systems Analysts, Scrum Masters, Project Managers, and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, technical discussions, troubleshooting, and production support.
  • Implement CI/CD processes using Azure DevOps and GitHub.

Required Skills & Experience
  • 8+ years of Data Engineering experience with strong Microsoft Azure expertise.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure Databricks (ADB) and Azure Data Factory (ADF).
  • Strong experience with Azure Data Lake and Lakehouse architectures.
  • Strong experience with PostgreSQL and database migration to Azure.
  • Strong Big Data experience, preferably with Cloudera.
  • Hands-on expertise in SQL, Python, PySpark, Spark, or Scala.
  • Proven experience developing batch and real-time data ingestion pipelines.
  • Strong experience with Kafka and Big Data processing.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT development and data integration.
  • Experience working with APIs for data migration and integration.
