Job Description

NCDIT-Transportation (NCDIT-T) Infrastructure Team is seeking a Cloud Engineer - Expert that will support the ongoing DMV NCMAX Cloud infrastructure build.

The candidate will need to come on-site on the first day to collect equipment. Probably first week to get brought up to speed and process in

All candidates must be local to the Triangle region of North Carolina.

This position may require on site attendance when business needs warrant in person participation, such as scheduled meetings or other task specific activities.

**STATEWIDE TRAVEL REQUIRED** As a contractor the selected candidate will have to use their own vehicle; state vehicles are not permitted to be driven by contractors.

NCDIT-Transportation (NCDIT-T) Infrastructure Team is seeking a Cloud Engineer - Expert that will support the ongoing DMV NCMAX Cloud infrastructure build.

The primary focus is to help NCDIT-T understand the architecture and be a bridge between NCDIT-T and the vendors with their knowledge of Cloud infrastructure networking, storage and security.

The complexity of these responsibilities are essential to NCDIT-T to support the building of the Azure tenant from scratch so that DMV systems can be placed in the cloud. NCDIT-T and DMV have an aggressive schedule to get this done to support the DMV modernization efforts.

Role/Responsibilities:

  • responsible for designing and developing software solutions for cloud-based operating systems
  • builds and maintains infrastructure as code (IaC) using DevOps methodology and versioning with a descriptive model to define and deploy infrastructure, such as networks, virtual machines, load balancers, and connection topologies.
  • providing a reliable and scalable platform for developers to build and deploy applications
  • responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the cloud network infrastructure including the deployment and configuration of cloud-based network solutions to ensure high performance, reliability, and security
