Job description

About us

Intellum is the leader in corporate education technology and powers the largest, most successful customer, partner, and employee learning programs in the world. Large brands and fast-moving companies like Google, Meta, Amazon, Walmart, Xero, Atlassian, Mailchimp, Airbnb, Stripe, and TikTok rely on Intellum to engage and educate the audiences they touch.

We have always been a "remote first" company and are proud to have team members located all over the world. We value Curiosity, Creativity, Perseverance, and Kindness and strive to demonstrate these core values every day. Our culture is very important to us. We invest in our people in fun and exciting ways, including personal development budgets and an annual all-company retreat that is focused less on work and more on human connections. We are in growth mode, and our "smart growth" approach ensures that we will continue to scale our company effectively.

Lead audience building, organic discovery, and content creation to make Intellum the name buyers know and the answer engines cite first. This senior individual contributor owns audience and content strategy and personally writes the core of it—website copy, blog posts, email nurture, and social—while driving organic growth (SEO, AEO, GEO) and running an AI-native operating model where agents handle volume. Contractors and internal partners scale production; the Director holds the standard: content that reads unmistakably human and converts to ICP-fit pipeline.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute targeted audience strategies across specific buyer segments and lifecycle stages to earn sustained engagement.
  • Own content strategy and personally produce core content—website copy, blog posts, email nurture, and social—setting the editorial standard that contractors and internal partners scale.
  • Expand owned audiences and manage active participation within established buyer communities.
  • Direct social media engagement strategies, cultivating executives, subject-matter experts, and customers into recognizable brand voices.
  • Lead video content strategy—including short-form, episodic, and event capture—and oversee external contractors to scale production.
  • Design and manage an original research and Point of View (POV) program to secure third-party citations, speaking engagements, and sales enablement resources.
  • Manage web content strategy to enhance organic discovery and authority (SEO, AEO, GEO) via third-party sources, earned media, and AI answer engines.
  • Monitor social and community channels to extract actionable insights for product positioning, demand generation, and sales strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Marketing, Demand Generation, and Customer Marketing to drive customer advocacy and qualified pipeline.
  • Architect and manage an AI-native content operating model, balancing automated workflows (agents, repurposing, distribution) with strict human editorial standards.
  • Establish hypothesis testing and strict performance evaluation metrics for all marketing motions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
  • Exceptional taste — a personal instinct for what's good and what an audience will stop for. It's the unique judgment you bring and you don't settle for merely competent.
  • 8+ years of experience building audiences in B2B or media environments.
  • 3+ years of experience owning content and audience strategy at a senior IC or director level.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining an audience or community from inception.
  • Demonstrated proficiency across multiple content formats, including short-form and long-form video.
  • Deep understanding of modern organic discovery (SEO, AEO, GEO) and AI-driven answer engines (e.g., ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews).
  • Strong editorial judgment with the ability to translate research and expert insights into compelling, narrative-driven content.
  • Demonstrated ability to systematize AI into a content operation using agents, prompts, and workflows while maintaining high-quality, human-readable output.
  • Ability to synthesize raw data signals from social listening, communities, and sales calls into strategic insights.
  • Ability to work consistently across multiple U.S. time zones.
  • Occasional travel required for company events and customer engagements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in creation/ownership of a successful owned-audience asset (newsletter, show, podcast, or community) with a highly engaged base.
  • Background in media, publishing, the creator economy, or as a foundational audience hire at a startup.
  • Experience in the learning, customer education, enablement, or technical practitioner sectors.
  • Experience growing organic and AI-answer visibility in competitive search categories.
  • Marketing experience at a PE-backed SaaS company, ideally involving up-market expansion or brand repositioning.
  • Proficient in Google Suite.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

BENEFITS

  • Medical - 100% of employee premiums for selected individual plans
  • Dental - 100% of employee premiums covered
  • Vision - 100% of employee premiums covered
  • LinkedIn Learning
  • 401(k) plus matching (US Based Only)
  • Flexible PTO
