Job Overview:
FXI is seeking an experienced Vice President, Product Management to lead the product lifecycle for the assigned product lines (Mattresses, Pillows and Soft Furniture). In conjunction with the CPO, this senior level role defines the product strategy and roadmap, ensures product excellence, and drives profitable revenue growth across the portfolio. The VP sets the product vision, builds and leads the product management team, and aligns functions across the enterprise to a shared strategy. As a key role provides market intelligence, pricing strategy, consumer insight, and go-to-market leadership while directing cross-functional teams to optimize speed to market.
  • Lead the assigned product line(s) and define the multi-year product portfolio strategy and vision across markets, brands, and channels. Overall leadership across retail (mattress, pillow, topper, soft furniture) and engineering solutions strategic categories. Will lead by example thru direct leadership in mattress product category management.
  • Partner closely with business lines, marketing, and sales to develop multi-year product strategies aligned with customer needs to ensure long-term, profitable revenue growth.
  • Create go-to-market strategy for product line introductions and refreshes, setting product development direction and new-product value propositions.
  • Develop and execute product roadmaps in partnership with product development, sourcing, procurement, and logistics for on-time supply chain operations, and establish KPIs by which to measure success.
  • Oversee the entire consumer centric product lifecycle-from concept and design through sample production, testing, forecasting, cost, mass production, promotion, support, and product end-of-life.
  • Lead the development, presentation, and continuous review of business cases; make evidence-based recommendations on the initiation and termination of projects.
  • Develop and present new-opportunity business cases to the Executive Team for approval, ensuring alignment with organizational growth and profitability targets.
  • Maintain authoritative market, competitive, and pricing intelligence, including benchmarking, to inform go-to-market strategy; oversee SKU rationalization as needed.
  • Implement customer segmentation strategies and gather customer feedback through account and channel managers to inform future product iterations.
  • Build and lead consumer learning capabilities-including voice-of-consumer research, usage and ethnographic studies, and end-user insights-to translate them into actionable product requirements.
  • Collaborate with product development to lead consumer-driven iterative development, using rapid prototyping, in-market and concept testing, and structured consumer feedback loops to accelerate speed to market.
  • Monitor and anticipate consumer market trends-including shifts in consumer preferences, demographics, sustainability expectations, and emerging end-use applications-to guide portfolio strategy, innovation priorities, and long-term growth opportunities.
  • Educate and enable sales on product lines, technologies, market trends, and the competitive landscape; attend customer meetings to present product strategy.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration among Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, Product Development and R&D to achieve product goals, and act as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing product management team, providing project-priority direction to improve speed to market.
  • Assist business unit General Managers in achieving top-line and profitability goals.

Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on managing product lines or categories; experience in manufacturing or product development is advantageous.
  • 5+ years of product management experience, including direct leadership of teams and product portfolios.
  • Proven success managing a product portfolio throughout its lifecycle, from development through market launch.
  • In-depth understanding of the assigned product line(s) and the industries they serve.
  • Experience developing and executing product strategies, including positioning and value propositions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence at the executive level.
  • Highly effective customer presentation skills and the ability to construct and pitch executive-level business cases.
  • Strong command of product pricing models to determine feasibility against organizational and customer goals.
  • Proficiency in using data analytics tools to measure channel performance and derive insights.
  • Advanced MS Office skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
