Job description

Overview
We are seeking candidates for an RFP Writer role. The RFP Writer is responsible for completing complex RFPs, DDQs and other questionnaires related to institutional investment products and services.
This position requires independent research, analysis, creativity, and judgment to accurately and favorably present investment products/services to institutional customers and consultants.
We currently operate in a hybrid working model, whereby you will be required to work in-office 4 days per week.
Location(s): Charlotte, NC
Responsibilities
  • Producing high quality responses, identifying key "win" themes and positioning responses for each request
  • Qualifying RFPs considering the firm's product/service capabilities, account minimums, and legal guidelines
  • Working closely with portfolio management, sales, performance, finance, investment analytics, compliance, and legal staff to complete responses, identify proposed fees, and develop language
  • Undertaking product suitability analysis and recommending the appropriate investment products for institutional customers to coordinate our participation in RFP opportunities
  • Writers may also share responsibility for reviewing, creating and/or updating the firm's profiles on consultant databases
  • This is a collaborative work environment where projects are regularly shared by two or more writers
  • Thorough understanding of the investment management business, the organization's products and services, and the RFP and consultant questionnaire response process are necessary to be successful in this role

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of written communications development experience demonstrated through work or military experience
  • Remain in stationary position for prolonged periods of time
  • Operate computer programs and software
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences in person and in electronic formats
  • Day-to-day contact with others (co-workers and/or public)
  • Ability to work in a collaborative business environment in close quarters with peers and varying interruptions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to make timely and independent judgment decisions while working in a fast-paced and results-driven environment
  • BS/BA degree or higher in accounting, finance, economics or related field
  • 3+ years of investment industry experience
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks, projects, and responsibilities within strict deadlines
  • Familiarity with asset management and investment products, including mutual funds
  • Familiarity with Allspring products and related systems
  • Familiarity with Loopio (or other RFP software)
  • Adoption of AI tools for RFP & DDQ creation

Compensation
Base Pay Range: $80,000 - $95,000
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary bonus programs, or other annual or non-annual incentive or sales plans.)
