The Role 

Suffolk is seeking a highly motivated Manager, Talent Acquisition, Sourcing to help build strong pipelines of top construction talent across our growing Mission Critical business. This position sits in our Herndon, VA, Boston, MA or Dallas, TX office.

This is a sourcing-focused Talent Acquisition role, not a traditional full-cycle recruiting position. This person will focus on identifying, engaging, and building relationships with high-caliber passive candidates across senior project leadership, field operations, MEP, preconstruction, estimating, and safety.

The ideal candidate is a true talent hunter who knows how to find hard-to-reach candidates, build trust quickly, and turn market intelligence into actionable sourcing strategies. This person will partner closely with Talent Acquisition Partners and Mission Critical leaders to support current hiring needs while building long-term talent communities for future growth. This role is critical to helping Suffolk compete for the best Mission Critical construction talent in one of the most competitive markets in the industry.

  • Proactively identify, source, and engage passive construction talent across the Mission Critical market.
  • Build targeted pipelines for senior project leadership, field operations, MEP, preconstruction, estimating, and safety roles.
  • Develop creative sourcing strategies using LinkedIn Recruiter, industry research, competitor mapping, referrals, networking, events, databases, and other sourcing channels.
  • Conduct initial candidate outreach and screens to assess experience, career motivation, compensation expectations, location flexibility, and alignment with Suffolk opportunities.
  • Create consistent follow-up campaigns with passive candidates who may require multiple touchpoints before engaging.
  • Build and maintain talent maps for key Mission Critical competitors, geographies, projects, and job families.
  • Provide Talent Acquisition Partners and business leaders with market insights, including talent availability, competitor activity, compensation trends, relocation considerations, and candidate motivators.
  • Partner with recruiters and business leaders to understand priority searches, candidate profiles, hiring timelines, and upcoming workforce needs.
  • Present qualified, interested, and aligned candidates to Talent Acquisition Partners for interview process management.
  • Track sourcing activity, candidate engagement, pipeline movement, and follow-up actions in the Applicant Tracking System and related sourcing tools.
  • Provide regular updates on outreach activity, response rates, qualified screens, candidate conversion, market feedback, and pipeline health.
  • Maintain long-term relationships with high-potential candidates for current and future Suffolk opportunities.
Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of recruiting, sourcing, executive search, agency recruiting, and/or talent intelligence experience.
  • Demonstrated success identifying and engaging passive candidates in competitive talent markets.
  • Strong research skills with the ability to map competitors, identify talent pools, and uncover hard-to-find candidates.
  • Experience using LinkedIn Recruiter, ATS platforms, sourcing tools, Boolean search, talent databases, and other candidate identification methods.
  • Strong candidate engagement skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and maintain relationships over time.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create compelling outreach messaging.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple sourcing projects, pipelines, and follow-up cadences simultaneously.
  • High sense of urgency, strong follow-through, and comfort working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Ability to translate market insights into actionable recommendations for recruiters and hiring leaders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience sourcing talent within construction, engineering, architecture, infrastructure, data centers, mission critical, or a related AEC industry.
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with iCIMS preferred but not required.

 Compensation Information

The expected salary range for this position (Manager, Talent Acquisition Partner) in US-MA-Boston is between $100,000 and $141,000 USD.  This represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Suffolk's total compensation package.  Actual salaries may be based on several factors including, but not limited to, skill set, experience, education and other qualifications.  Suffolk offers a comprehensive benefits package as part of its overall compensation strategy.  Salary ranges may differ by geography and are reviewed regularly to reflect market trends.
