Job description

The Human Resources Business Partner provides strategic and day to day HR support across multiple business functions. This individual partners with managers to drive employee engagement, performance management, organizational effectiveness, employee relations, talent development, and workforce planning. The ideal candidate is proactive, approachable, solutions oriented, and comfortable working in a fast paced construction environment.
Compensation: $100,000-$120,000 annually

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders to develop and execute people strategies that support organizational goals.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on employee relations, performance management, coaching, and conflict resolution.
  • Guide managers through employee performance discussions, corrective action, investigations, and terminations while ensuring consistency and compliance.
  • Support organizational design, workforce planning, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to support hiring strategies and workforce growth.
  • Analyze workforce trends and HR metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Coach managers on leadership development, employee engagement, and team effectiveness.
  • Assist with change management initiatives during organizational growth and restructuring.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Partner with Payroll and HR Operations on employee lifecycle processes.
  • Support compensation and promotion recommendations in partnership with leadership.
  • Participate in employee engagement initiatives, culture building activities, and retention strategies.
  • Assist with policy development and continuous improvement of HR programs and processes.
  • Support investigations involving employee concerns while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience with at least 3 years as an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist supporting business leaders.
  • Experience supporting construction, engineering, manufacturing, or other field based organizations strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of California employment law.
  • Experience handling employee relations, investigations, performance management, and coaching.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to influence and partner with leaders at all levels.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM CP, or SHRM SCP certification.
  • Experience supporting multi state workforces.
  • Experience with Greenhouse, UKG, Paylocity, ADP, or similar HR systems.
  • Experience supporting rapid organizational growth.
