About the Role
We're seeking an experienced and results-driven Construction Operations Manager to lead and support multiple construction projects and operational teams across our growing organization. In this role, you'll oversee project execution, resource planning, field operations, client relationships, and financial performance while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably.
This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic leader who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and is passionate about developing people, improving operational performance, and driving organizational growth
What You'll Do
    • Lead and coordinate construction operations across multiple projects and regions.
    • Review project time sheets, quantities, and operational metrics to support accurate reporting and project performance.
    • Coordinate field resources and scheduling to ensure projects are properly staffed and equipped based on project budgets and timelines.
    • Partner with Project Managers, Superintendents, and clients to develop and maintain project schedules and operational plans.
    • Build and maintain strong client relationships while serving as a key point of contact throughout project execution.
    • Support pre-construction planning, project setup, and operational readiness activities.
    • Review project job cost performance with company leadership and implement corrective actions as needed.
    • Analyze operational challenges and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
    • Mentor, coach, and develop Superintendents, Project Managers, and project teams.
    • Resolve field issues and provide technical guidance to project personnel and clients.
    • Review project reporting, scope performance, and operational compliance requirements.
    • Participate in project meetings and lead the resolution of operational concerns and project risks.
    • Support workforce planning, recruiting, employee development, performance management, and other leadership responsibilities.
    • Ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and all company safety standards.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and safety excellence.

Position Requirements
What You Bring
    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
    • Significant experience managing construction operations, heavy civil construction, utility infrastructure, pipeline construction, or related industries.
    • Strong understanding of project management, scheduling, budgeting, and job cost management.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, teams, and priorities simultaneously.
    • Experience leading field operations and collaborating with project management teams.
    • Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations, including OSHA, MSHA, and DOT requirements.
    • Excellent leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.
    • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
    • Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to exercise sound judgment and manage complex operational challenges independently.
    • Proficiency with construction management software, project reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications.

Why Join Harper Brothers Construction?
    • Be part of a company that puts people and safety first.
    • Work in a collaborative and supportive team environment.
    • Gain exposure to diverse projects and multi-state operations.
    • Opportunities for growth and career development.
    • Play a meaningful role in building critical infrastructure that makes an impact.
