Our projects range from military facilities to national historic monuments. We pride ourselves on 35 years of delivering meaningful projects across 22 states and counting.

Description
We are seeking qualified candidates for the position of Construction Controller to be responsible for the financial and accounting functions of Wu & Associates.  Prior experience serving as a controller for a public sector construction contractor highly preferred. Typical clients include federal agencies, state and local government entities, and some private sector corporations. Projects are typically in the $1 million to $30 million range. 

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of accounts receivable progress billings based on specific contract terms
  • Review accounts receivable, aging reports, and assist with collections
  • Oversee accounts payable process to ensure timely approvals and payments
  • Supervise the payment process to vendors and subcontractors, confirm lien waivers are properly collected
  • Supervise direct reports who split their time between accounting and office administration duties
  • Perform special assignments for senior management
  • Oversee monthly job cost reports with senior management and project managers for use in creating and updating contract schedules and updated work in progress reports for internal and external use
  • Assist office administration with business and health insurance matters
  • Administer SIMPLE IRA retirement program
  • Interface with outside CPA firm and financial consultants as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Business Administration
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a construction accounting role
  • Passion for details, productivity, and efficiency
  • Effective communication skills accompanied by positive, self-confident, and assertive attitude
  • Satisfactory background check and drug testing
