The Opportunity

You will step into a high-visibility leadership role with direct access to the CEO and CFO, serving as a primary driver of financial clarity for a business actively scaling across California. This position offers a unique runway for career growth, providing you with a well-documented system to inherit and the autonomy to influence critical decisions as we enter new markets. You will transition into this role with dedicated mentorship, ensuring your financial reporting and oversight directly impact our future investments and operational success. This is a fully remote opportunity, but must be based in the U.S. 

How You Will Make an Impact
  • Execute expert-level bookkeeping and weekly reconciliations using QuickBooks Desktop to maintain a flawless financial foundation.

  • Lead the payroll and commission process through Fingercheck and MyBBSI, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for our specialized field teams.

  • Analyze job costing and material purchases to identify discrepancies and optimize project profitability across the residential sector.

  • Manage vital vendor relationships and insurance renewals to secure competitive pricing and operational accountability.

  • Oversee corporate compliance by filing business licenses, permit renewals, and vehicle registrations on schedule.

  • Develop weekly financial planning models and cost analyses that empower the executive team to make data-driven growth decisions.

  • Streamline internal administrative systems and electronic filing to enhance transparency and efficiency as the company expands.

Required Qualifications & Experience
  • 5 or more years of professional accounting or controller-level experience.

  • Expert-level proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop is a non-negotiable requirement for this role.

  • Strong technical command of Excel and Google Sheets for complex financial modeling.

  • Proven ability to be self-directed, managing high-volume workloads and deadlines without constant oversight.

  • Professional communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with everyone from field crews to the CEO.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Previous experience in construction, trades, or field-service accounting.

  • Familiarity with Fingercheck, MyBBSI, Expensify, or similar payroll and expense tracking platforms.
