Position Summary

The Project Manager is the primary driver of planning, financial performance, and client experience across assigned projects.

This role owns the project from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring that budgets, schedules, selections, and communication are structured in a way that allows the field team to execute without friction.

You will manage 2-3 active projects concurrently, working in close partnership with the Superintendent to ensure alignment between office planning and field execution.

We are looking for a Project Manager who believes that most field issues originate from gaps in planning, scope clarity, or communication-and can be prevented upstream.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Pre-Construction Ownership

  • Lead pre-construction planning, including scope development, budgeting, and scheduling
  • Ensure all project documentation (plans, selections, scope details) is complete, coordinated, and build-ready
  • Identify gaps, conflicts, or ambiguities early and resolve prior to construction start

Budget & Financial Management

  • Develop and manage project budgets, including tracking commitments and actual costs
  • Manage change orders with clarity, accuracy, and timeliness
  • Proactively identify and address cost risks before they impact profitability

Scheduling & Project Flow

  • Build and maintain high-level project schedules in coordination with the Superintendent
  • Ensure schedules are realistic, properly sequenced, and aligned with project constraints
  • Support look-ahead planning by ensuring upstream decisions and materials are ready ahead of need

Client Communication & Experience

  • Serve as the primary client point of contact throughout the project lifecycle
  • Set clear expectations from the beginning and maintain consistent communication
  • Guide clients through selections, decisions, and changes with structure and professionalism

Team Alignment & Coordination

  • Partner closely with the Superintendent to ensure seamless transition from planning to execution
  • Ensure subcontractors are properly scoped, contracted, and aligned before mobilization
  • Maintain alignment between office systems (CoConstruct) and real-time project status

Systems & Process Discipline

  • Utilize construction management software (CoConstruct) as the central source of truth
  • Maintain accurate documentation, schedules, budgets, and communication logs
  • Continuously improve systems and workflows to support scalable operations
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of residential construction project management experience
  • Experience managing custom homes and/or high-end renovations preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, budgeting, and subcontractor coordination
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously (2-3 active jobs)
  • Proficiency with construction management software (CoConstruct preferred; Buildertrend/Procore acceptable)
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural plans
  • Strong working knowledge of estimating, cost tracking, and change order management
What Success Looks Like
  • Projects are fully planned before field execution begins
  • Budgets are accurate, tracked, and protected throughout the project lifecycle
  • Clients feel informed, confident, and well-managed at every stage
  • The Superintendent is able to focus on execution-not chasing missing information
  • Change orders are handled proactively, not reactively
  • Fewer surprises, smoother builds, and stronger project outcomes overall
Compensation & Growth
  • $70,000-$80,000/year, based on experience and capability
  • Consistent, year-round project pipeline
  • Opportunity to take on larger, more complex projects over time
  • Growth path into Senior Project Manager or Operations Leadership as the company scales
Why TAB Construction
  • Clear structure between office and field roles - no chaos, no overlap
  • Systems-driven approach - we build with intention, not reaction
  • High-quality projects - work that reflects craftsmanship and care
  • Direct collaboration with ownership - your impact is visible and valued
  • Long-term opportunity - grow with a company that is building the right foundation
How to Apply

Interested candidates should submit:

  • A current resume
  • A brief note outlining relevant residential project experience
  • Examples of projects where you managed budgets, client communication, or pre-construction planning

Qualified applicants will be contacted to discuss experience, project background, and alignment with TAB Construction's approach to project management.
