Lead Carpenter / Working Superintendent

Field Leadership | Craftsmanship | Client Experience

We are seeking a skilled, organized, and solutions-oriented Lead Carpenter / Working Superintendent to help lead high-end residential construction projects from active build through completion.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can confidently manage the field production of complex projects, including subcontractor coordination, quality control, homeowner communication, and day-to-day jobsite documentation. You'll work closely with the leadership team to keep projects moving efficiently while maintaining the level of craftsmanship and professionalism that custom residential clients expect.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Field Leadership & Jobsite Management

  • Plan and lead daily onsite construction activities across remodel and custom residential projects
  • Coordinate subcontractors, schedules, deliveries, and inspections
  • Maintain project momentum while identifying and resolving field issues proactively
  • Ensure projects are executed safely, cleanly, and professionally
  • Conduct regular quality control walkthroughs and punch list management
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, site documentation, and progress updates

Carpentry & Hands-On Production

  • Perform skilled rough and finish carpentry work as needed
  • Assist with layout, framing, cabinetry, trim, hardware, blocking, and specialty installations
  • Support field crews during critical production phases
  • Set the standard for craftsmanship and attention to detail on-site

Client & Team Communication

  • Serve as a professional point of contact for homeowners during active construction
  • Communicate schedule updates, site conditions, and next steps clearly and professionally
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, designers, and ownership
  • Help mentor junior carpenters and field team members

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of residential construction experience preferred
  • Prior experience as a Lead Carpenter, Superintendent, Foreman, or similar field leadership role
  • Strong understanding of residential construction sequencing and building practices
  • Ability to read plans, specifications, and scopes of work confidently
  • Comfortable balancing hands-on carpentry with project coordination responsibilities
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Professional demeanor with clients, vendors, and trade partners
  • Ability to troubleshoot and adapt in fast-moving environments
  • Experience with project management software such as Buildertrend, CoConstruct, Procore, or similar is a plus
