JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain the general ledger system and managing the month and year end close process.
  • Manage the general ledger and prepare monthly account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review monthly journal entries.
  • Prepare and reconcile I/C transactions with divisions and Corporate.
  • Generate month end financials and provide analysis of activity.
  • Manage and assist accounts payable function & positive pay confirmation.
  • Manage & assist accounts receivable function including collections from past due customers.
  • Prepare and maintain Revenue Recognition documentation.
  • Process payroll journal entries and support HR as required.
  • Coordinate and provide documents for interim, year-end audits as required.
  • Develop and improve department controls, systems and procedures. increasing efficiencies and compliance with Corporate Policies.
  • Assist with quarterly, interim and year end audit schedules
  • Supervise and train Accounting staff.
  • Manage and troubleshoot various software issues.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual sales tax returns.
  • Coordinate and assist in preparation of R&D Tax credits, property tax returns and other Corporate Tax request.
  • Manage and maintain Avalara Sales Tax system and exemption certificates.
  • Complete assignments as required.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Accounting or Finance.
    • 3-5 years general accounting experience with prior experience in supervisor role, manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Previous cost accounting experience helpful.
    • Hands on Manager with ability to provide direction and training to direct reports.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organization skills, attention to detail and accuracy are required.
    • Advance knowledge in Microsoft Excel; using formulas and functions to drive automation and efficiencies. Experience with ERP Programs (Syteline/Sage preferred)
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to react quickly to providing solutions and resolving issues. 
    • Ability to stay focused while managing multiple tasks/projects, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others toward mutual objectives and ability to influence across cross functional teams.
