How much do concurrent h1b jobs pay per year?

As of Jul 23, 2026, the average yearly pay for concurrent h1b in the United States is $94,589.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $70,000.00 and $112,000.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What is the $100000 rule for H-1B?

The $100,000 rule for H-1B pertains to the salary threshold for certain H-1B visa petitions, where employers must demonstrate they are paying at least $100,000 annually or meet prevailing wage requirements to qualify for specific exemptions or benefits. This rule is part of USCIS policies to ensure fair wages and prevent wage suppression in specialty occupation employment. It is relevant for H-1B employers and applicants to understand salary compliance and wage standards during the petition process.

Can you have concurrent H-1B?

Yes, an H-1B visa holder can work for multiple employers simultaneously by obtaining concurrent H-1B petitions for each employer. This allows the worker to hold multiple H-1B positions, provided each employer files a separate approved petition and the total work hours do not exceed full-time employment standards. Employers must comply with H-1B regulations and wage requirements for each position.

What is a Concurrent H1B job?

A Concurrent H1B job allows an individual already holding an H1B visa to work for an additional employer while maintaining their original H1B employment. The new employer must file a separate H1B petition for concurrent employment, but it is not subject to the H1B cap if the worker already holds H1B status. The foreign worker must comply with all H1B requirements for both jobs, including work authorization and employer sponsorship. This option is commonly used for professionals working part-time or in consulting roles.

What are some common challenges faced when working under concurrent H1B employment?

One of the main challenges of concurrent H1B employment is successfully managing work schedules and deliverables for multiple employers while ensuring compliance with all immigration regulations. It's important to maintain clear communication with each employer about your availability and responsibilities, as well as to keep accurate records of your work hours and job duties. Some professionals also face logistical challenges, such as time zone differences or balancing expectations from different workplace cultures. However, this setup can provide valuable experience, broaden your professional network, and offer unique opportunities for skill development.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Concurrent H1B position, and why are they important?

To thrive in a Concurrent H1B role, you need in-depth expertise in your specialty (such as software engineering or data analysis), a relevant academic degree, and eligibility for H1B sponsorship with proper documentation. Familiarity with time-tracking tools, project management applications, and knowledge of U.S. immigration compliance systems is highly valuable. Strong organization, adaptability, and proactive communication are key soft skills for managing responsibilities across multiple employers. These abilities ensure effective performance, legal compliance, and seamless collaboration when employed concurrently by more than one H1B sponsor.

Can I do multiple jobs while my H-1B is under process?

An H-1B visa holder can work only for the employer that sponsored their visa unless they file for and receive approval for a concurrent H-1B petition from USCIS. To work for multiple employers simultaneously, each must be approved through a separate H-1B petition, and employment must comply with visa regulations. Working without proper authorization can jeopardize the visa status.

Can I have two jobs while on H-1B?

H-1B visa holders can work for only the employer that sponsored their visa unless they obtain additional H-1B petitions or amend their existing visa to include multiple employers. Working for multiple employers without proper authorization is a violation of H-1B regulations and can lead to visa revocation or future immigration issues.
