Summary:
The Department of Family and Consumer Sciences offers programs in Apparel, Merchandising and Design; Family and Consumer Sciences Education; Human Development and Family Studies; and Nutrition and Hospitality Management. The Department is accredited by the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. The rank and tenure status of position is negotiable based on qualifications.
Examples of Duties
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Human Development and Family Studies
  • Engage in research and scholarly writing.
  • Advise undergraduate students.
  • Serve on various university, college and departmental committees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Typical Qualifications
Minimum Position Requirements (including years of experience, certifications, licenses, etc.):
  • A doctoral degree in Family and Consumer Sciences or closely related area with a specialization in Human Development and Family Studies and or Child Development
  • Background and experience in teaching and research in Human Development and Family Studies, or Child Development is preferred.
