To operate a CAD system to update a variety of drawings (flow diagrams, P&ID's, mechanical, piping and piping isometrics, tank drawings, including miscellaneous civil and structural drawings, equipment layouts) while ensuring all technical documentation is accurate and optimized for efficient production.

This role will be an on site role based out of our Raleigh, NC location.


Education, Certifications and Experience

Required:
• Associates degree in drafting, CAD technology, mechanical/electrical design, or
• 2+ years' equivalent work experience in similar industry-related field

Preferred:
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical/electrical design, or
• 5 years of trade experience in a similar industry-related field


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Excellent oral, written, and computer communication skills
• Ability to interpret technical drawings
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar)
• Specialized training in AutoCAD 2D drawing
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access with MS SQL experience is a plus
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-function teams to stay on task with limited supervision
• Must be self-motivated and strive for success


Working Conditions:
• Fast paced bio-chemical/chemical/dry blending manufacturing environment working both in office & plant settings.
• May perform activities in an environment containing hazardous elements and requiring safety awareness and adherence to all safety policies and guidelines. Work must be performed in a safe manner for personal protection and for the protection of other team members. All safety procedures, procedures described in SOPs, JHAs, and support of the ISO standards in all functional areas must be followed, enforced, and strictly complied with.

Physical Requirements:
Position requires the ability to sit for a minimum of 6 hours per day; stand, walk, bend over and reach above head less than an hour a day; minimal lifting or carrying of 50 pounds occasionally and repetitive use of hands/arms for writing and computer work. Position requires the ability to climb ladders and be at high levels


• Works to learn, comply, and maintain these standards: OH&S 45001 (safety), ISO 14001 (environment), and ISO9001 (product quality)
• Assists in the preparation of work instructions and/or Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
• Develop and revise 2D and 3D CAD models, drawings, and assemblies for manufacturing components and systems
• Review engineering sketches, specifications, and customer requirements to produce accurate technical drawings
• Maintain site drawing system file including standards, templates, and documentation according to company and industry guidelines
• Collaborate with engineers, production staff, and quality teams to update designs or documentation issues
• Update drawings to reflect engineering changes, revisions, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Assist in creating specialized drawings for automated systems as required
• Suggest and implement process improvement, cost down, or best practice ideas
