The IT Technician’s role will involve supporting and maintaining IT systems within a busy manufacturing environment to maximize availability, efficiency and cybersecurity.

Tasks will include troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking issues across a complex IT environment as well as setting up and configuring new systems and software.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under limited supervision and acting on own initiative and direction, essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

· Provide end-user technical support for desktop systems and peripherals

· Troubleshoot hardware, software and network issues

· Install and configure hardware and software

· Repair or replace desktop and server hardware and supporting power and network infrastructure

· Monitor and upgrade

· Create and maintain technical documentation

· Train users on new software and technologies

· Support and assist the IT sys admin

· Provide remote technical support where required

· Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Exceptional IT skills
  • Experience installing and maintaining desktop and server versions of the Windows operating system
  • Familiarity with common desktop and server hardware, software and peripherals
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • In-depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
  • Good knowledge of cybersecurity best practices
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Certification as IT Technician (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional) will be an advantage
  • Degree in Computer Science and/or relevant IT experience
