Job description

Control Panel Builders are responsible for the assembly of industrial control panels. Duties include all aspects of the panel build including; inventory control, reading schematics, enclosure cutouts, sub pan assembly, wiring, wire labeling, markers, documentation and testing of control panels. This position reports to the Panel Shop Manager.
Qualifications
  • Dedication to excellence and a quality output.
  • Experience building and testing control panels.
  • Must be able to follow checklists and document work performed.
  • Must be able to work independently, accurately amp; efficiently.
  • Demonstrated organizational amp; time management skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Working knowledge of Windows programs amp; general computer operation.
  • Familiar with NEC, NFPA, UL508A a plus.
Responsibilities
The following activities are required in this position:
  • Promote excellence throughout the department.
  • Construction, documentation, testing amp; troubleshooting of controls and control panel.
  • Read electrical schematics and panel layout drawings with bills of materials.
  • Work directly with engineering to resolve issues with layout/build to sustain scheduled delivery.
  • Panel check-out in the shop before shipment.
  • Interpretation of Customer specifications.
  • “Ownership” of workmanship. Quality construction is normal.
  • Others as required by supervision.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
