WHO WE ARE
The Component Engineer (Member Engineering Staff) will contribute to a wide variety of projects based on our Rotary & Mission Systems business needs. The engineer will work as an independent contributor with team leadership to perform component/hardware engineers tasks in support of project objectives.
THE WORK
Daily responsibilities include:
- Researching and recommending parts for design in equipment, systems, and networks for defense, commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
- Responsible for ensuring parts selected meet
program contractual requirements and RMS
standard part initiatives. The position will require
obtaining sufficient knowledge of RMS Common
Process policies and procedures and contract
specifications.
- Responsible for creating and processing component drawings, Problem Reports, Change Requests, Parts Lists, test plans and procedures, and Non-Standard Parts Approval Requests (NSPAR).
- Responsible for facilitating and expediting
drawing creation, parts procurement, and equipment assembly and test.
- Responsible for consideration of DMS and
counterfeit issues with parts and component selections.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from accredited college in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Engineering, or related technical discipline with 2+ years of related professional experience or 6+ directly related professional experience in lieu of degree.
- Experience with component drawings, Problem
Reports, Change Requests, Parts Lists, test plans, acceptance testing and procedures.
- Experience working with and selecting active circuit components such as amplifiers or microcircuits or FPGAs or BGAs.
- Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance. US Citizenship is required.
Desired skills
- Familiarity with PTC Windchill Product Lifecycle
Management (PLM) Tool(s).
- Expertise working with and selecting passive components such as capacitors, inductors, and resistors for military applications.

Ability to work remotely
Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in Colorado or Washington is $67,400 - $129,300. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO); receive 40 hours of Granted PTO annually for incidental absences; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Premium Pay Statement

The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York City is $77,600 - $146,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
