About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic Director to join our Life Sciences Strategy & Intelligence practice. This is a senior leadership role responsible for guiding client engagements, developing team capabilities, and shaping the strategic direction of our work.
Directors at Sedulo operate as player-coaches, leading teams of Client Engagement Managers and Analysts while remaining actively engaged in delivery. They elevate the quality of insights, ensure operational excellence, and serve as trusted advisors to both clients and internal teams.
This role requires a deep understanding of how pharmaceutical and biotech organizations leverage competitive intelligence to inform strategic and tactical decisions, along with the ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable insights that drive impact.
What You'll Do
Client Leadership & Delivery Excellence
  • Provide senior oversight across multiple client engagements, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality, strategic, and actionable insights
  • Elevate team outputs by sharpening the "so what" and tying insights to client business priorities
  • Serve as a senior thought partner and escalation point for client stakeholders
  • Ensure all deliverables meet Sedulo's highest standards of quality, professionalism, and polish
Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop team members, fostering a high-performance and collaborative team environment
  • Act as a therapeutic area and competitive intelligence subject matter expert, serving as a sounding board for teams
  • Drive structured development through coaching, feedback, and structured growth opportunities
Business Development & Growth
  • Support business development efforts including proposal development, pitch participation, and opportunity shaping
  • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and deliver additional value
  • Represent Sedulo in client interactions, workshops, and industry settings
Operational Excellence & Innovation
  • Drive delivery and operational excellence across engagements, including project structuring, resourcing, and workflow management

Our Ideal Candidate
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in a life sciences discipline required (Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or related field)
  • Advanced degree strongly preferred (MS, PhD, MBA)
Experience
  • 6-10+ years of experience in life sciences consulting, competitive intelligence, or strategic insights roles
  • Proven experience leading teams and overseeing complex client engagements
  • Experience in a client-facing role, with an appreciation for the dynamics of client service, delivery excellence, and stakeholder management
  • Exposure to pharma workshops or strategic engagements such as scenario planning or competitive discussions
