Zealand Pharma

Cambridge, MA

Full-time

Posted 7 days ago

Job description

Does it excite you to build the commercial forecasting models that shape Zealand's breakthrough obesity and metabolic health portfolio? Do you have strong expertise in quantitative modeling, market scenarios, and translating data into actionable business insight? If this sounds like you, and you are ready to take on a broad area of responsibilities with an independent attitude, then you could be our new colleague.

Your new position

The Associate Director of Forecasting will be a key contributor to Zealand's commercial outlook across the obesity and metabolic health landscape. This role builds and maintains forecasting models and market assumptions, supports scenario-based analyses, and helps translate market dynamics into strategic recommendations. You will partner closely with Product Development, Commercial, and R&D teams to ensure forecasts reflect the latest market and clinical developments.

We offer exciting responsibilities:

  • Build, maintain, and refine commercial forecast models and market assumptions across Zealand's obesity and metabolic portfolio opportunities
  • Support scenario planning, sensitivity analyses, and competitive landscape assessments that inform decision-making on market evolution, positioning, and lifecycle considerations
  • Synthesize market research, epidemiology data, and secondary sources to validate forecast assumptions and identify emerging opportunities
  • Prepare data-driven presentation materials and written analyses for senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners
  • Collaborate with Commercial, Clinical Development, and R&D teams to integrate forecasting insights into go-to-market strategies and resource allocation decisions
  • Contribute to internal workshops and cross-functional discussions to embed forecasting rigor into business planning

Your profile

  • We are looking for an analytically strong forecaster with solid pharmaceutical or biotech commercial experience who combines rigor with business judgment. You are comfortable translating complex market data into clear, actionable insights and thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift and ambiguity is common. You build trusted relationships across functions and bring credible, well-reasoned analysis to the table.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in commercial forecasting, market modeling, or strategic planning within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
  • Strong proficiency in quantitative market modeling, demand forecasting methodologies, scenario planning, and competitive intelligence
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, statistical software, and/or specialized forecasting platforms) and experience with market intelligence platforms or databases
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize primary and secondary market research-including epidemiological data, payer landscape, and competitive intelligence-to build robust forecast assumptions
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey quantitative insights to cross-functional and senior audiences
  • Sound business judgment; ability to navigate ambiguity and contribute clarity to stakeholders through analytical depth

Your new team

The Market Insights Group supports Zealand's commercial strategy and go-to-market execution. The Forecasting function within this group develops the commercial models and market assumptions that anchor major strategic and resource allocation decisions. As Associate Director of Forecasting, you will work closely with colleagues in market research and competitive intelligence, with cross-functional partnerships in Commercial, Clinical Development, R&D, and corporate strategy. This role reports to the Director of Forecasting or directly to the Head of Market Insights if there's no Director layer.
