Job description

About Us

Solar Landscape is the leading commercial rooftop solar developer in the U.S. Only 4% of commercial rooftops host solar today — we’re changing that, fast. Commercial rooftop solar is the fastest, smartest way to build new clean power — delivering megawatts of generation in months, not years, and powering America’s energy and future right where it’s needed most. By turning rooftops into local power plants, we’re reshaping how — and how fast — energy gets built in the U.S.

Recognized as the #1 Distributed Generation Developer by New Project Media, the #1 National Commercial Rooftop Solar Developer by Solar Power World, and winner of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Grand Prize for Clean Energy, Solar Landscape is defining the future of energy generation in America.

Headquartered in Asbury Park, New Jersey, Solar Landscape has offices in Chicago, Baltimore, and New York City and operates in over a dozen states nationwide.

We move fast, solve hard problems, and take our work seriously — but never ourselves. We value clear thinking, accountability, and execution. At the same time, we’re collaborative by default, and believe the best work happens when people enjoy working together. Our team is made up of smart, grounded people who show up for each other — whether that’s troubleshooting a system design or catching up over lunch.

If you’re looking to do meaningful work in a high-performance environment — and be part of the team reshaping how energy gets built in the U.S. — we’d love to meet you.

About The Role

Solar Landscape is seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Senior Director, Subscriber Acquisition to lead our subscriber acquisition strategy across one of the nation's fastest-growing community solar portfolios.

Reporting to the EVP of Community solar, this leader will own the end-to-end strategy for subscriber acquisition, customer care, channel development, customer acquisition economics, and enterprise client management. The Senior Director will ensure Solar Landscape consistently delivers fully subscribed projects while maximizing customer lifetime value, acquisition efficiency, and client satisfaction.

The role leads a multidisciplinary organization responsible for acquisition strategy, direct-to-consumer marketing, enterprise and non-residential subscriber origination, customer experience, and channel operations. Responsibilities
  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing commercial organization, directly leading approximately three senior leaders across Acquisition, Care, and Direct-to-Consumer Marketing with responsibility for an overall team of approximately 8–10 professionals.
  • Develop and execute Solar Landscape's subscriber acquisition strategy across community solar subscriptions, Care programs, and emerging revenue opportunities.
  • Own subscriber acquisition strategy across all markets and channels, including broker networks, direct commercial outreach, digital acquisition, community engagement, municipal partnerships, and strategic channel expansion.
  • Lead acquisition budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, ensuring subscriber acquisition costs, channel economics, and portfolio performance meet company targets.
  • Optimize channel mix and allocation strategies to maximize project fill rates, acquisition efficiency, customer quality, and long-term portfolio performance.
  • Establish KPIs, forecasting models, dashboards, and operating metrics to measure channel performance, conversion, customer acquisition cost, and enrollment velocity.
  • Build and maintain executive relationships with enterprise customers, channel partners, brokers, subscriber organizations, municipalities, and strategic clients.
  • Serve as executive sponsor for key client accounts, ensuring exceptional client management, contract performance, issue resolution, and long-term partnership growth.
  • Collaborate with Product and Technology teams to improve acquisition infrastructure, enrollment systems, automation, and customer-facing tools.
  • Lead contract negotiations, commercial proposals, and partnership structures supporting long‑term portfolio growth.
  • Foster a data-driven, customer-focused culture centered on operational excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Renewable Energy, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in renewable energy, energy retail, utilities, subscription businesses, or customer acquisition.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale customer acquisition organizations with responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, and commercial performance.
  • Deep understanding of channel management, acquisition economics, and performance marketing.
  • Experience managing enterprise customers and strategic commercial relationships.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional organizations and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience developing forecasts, business cases, and commercial operating plans.
  • Excellent executive communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with operational execution in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment from one of Solar Landscape's office locations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with community solar, retail energy, renewable energy certificates (RECs), or utility customer programs.
  • Experience commercializing environmental commodities or renewable energy products.
  • Familiarity with customer acquisition platforms, CRM systems, marketing automation, and analytics tools.
  • Experience working across multiple regulated utility markets.
  • Knowledge of community solar policy, subscriber operations, and utility enrollment processes.
