[WEBTOON] Senior Marketing Manager, Community & Social

WEBTOON Entertainment Inc. (Wattpad & WEBTOON Family of Brands)

El Segundo, CA

$77K - $154K/yr

Full-time

Posted 9 days ago

Job description

WEBTOON Entertainment is a leading global entertainment company and home to some of the world's largest storytelling platforms. As the global leader and pioneer of the mobile webcomic format, WEBTOON Entertainment has transformed comics and visual storytelling for fans and creators.

With its CANVAS UGC platform empowering anyone to become a creator, and a growing roster of superstar WEBTOON Originals creators and series, WEBTOON Entertainment’s passionate fandoms are the new face of pop culture. WEBTOON Entertainment adaptations are available on Netflix, Prime Video, Crunchyroll, and other screens around the world, and the company’s content partners include Discord, HYBE, and DC Comics, among many others.

About the Role

WEBTOON is becoming the home for Marvel and Disney comics — a subscription app where fans read, collect, and stay connected to the stories and characters they love.

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Community & Social with deep roots in this world. The ideal candidate understands the creators, communities, and cultural moments that matter to comics fans — and knows how to translate that knowledge into content that drives meaningful engagement and action.

This is a hands-on execution role. You will be responsible for identifying the right voices, developing the creative, and maintaining the quality of everything that goes out under this platform. You will work closely with the Head of Marketing and own the day-to-day execution across creator programs, community, and social channels.

Responsibilities

Creator & Influencer Program (60%)

  • Identify and recruit creators, influencers, and community leaders with genuine credibility among the Comics audience — across TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, podcasts, and beyond

  • Own the full creator relationship: outreach, contracting, briefing, feedback, and performance tracking

  • Define the scope of each creator's output — format, angle, message, and hook — and develop the creative briefs that translate that vision into execution

  • Own output quality end-to-end: provide substantive feedback throughout the process and maintain a high bar for what is published

  • Design and manage creator-based growth programs — referral mechanics, affiliate structures, and exclusive incentives — that position creators as a scalable acquisition channel, not solely a brand awareness vehicle

  • Build and maintain an always-on ambassador roster, not a series of isolated campaign partnerships

Community & Social Channel Management (40%)

  • Maintain an active presence in the spaces where the audience engages — Reddit, Discord, Facebook groups, X/Twitter, and fan forums

  • Develop relationships with community leaders and high-influence users, and cultivate them as long-term advocates for the platform

  • Monitor community conversation, surface actionable insights to the broader team, and identify moments with activation potential

  • Own the platform's official social channels: content calendar, posting cadence, brand voice, and format strategy

  • Align with Marvel/Disney's social operations, content calendars, and publishing guidelines to ensure consistency across the broader IP ecosystem

What We're Looking For
What We're Looking For

Requirements

  • 6+ years in social media, community management, influencer marketing, or content — preferably at a media/entertainment/gaming company

  • Substantive knowledge of comics and pop culture fan communities Proven experience developing creator-driven growth programs — referral, affiliate, or ambassador structures with a direct connection to acquisition outcomes

  • Hands-on experience managing social channels with a meaningful following, with accountability for performance beyond scheduling and publishing

  • Strong creative instincts and writing ability — capable of distinguishing and producing high-quality briefs and content concepts

  • High resilience and bias for action — operates effectively in a fast-moving environment with shifting context and a high standard of execution

Preferred

  • Active presence in Marvel, graphic novel, or comics fan communities

  • Experience operating within IP licensor brand guidelines

  • Background in fan communities, conventions, or collector culture

  • Experience at a subscription or app-based product
