Job description

Community-Based Services Manager

Community-Based Services (CBS) ManagerLead People. Build Great Programs. Make an Impact.

Are you a strong leader who loves working with people, solving problems, and creating programs that genuinely make a difference?

OPPO is looking for an energetic, organized, and people-focused Community-Based Services (CBS) Manager to lead our growing community-based programs.

This isn't a sit-behind-a-desk-all-day management job. You'll work alongside an incredible team of employees who help people with disabilities build skills, friendships, independence, and meaningful connections in their communities.

The CBS Manager oversees OPPO's nonresidential, non-vocational rehabilitation services, including:

  • Afterschool Program
  • Day Program, including non-facility-based day services
  • Summer Program
  • Social Skills programs

Your job is to make sure these programs—and the people behind them—are successful, organized, growing, and delivering the safe, happy, healthy OPPOrtunities our clients deserve.

This is an in-person leadership position and is not remote.

What You'll DoLead an Amazing Team

You'll oversee the employees providing CBS services and take an active role in building a strong, dependable team. That includes recruiting, hiring, coaching, performance management, disciplinary action when necessary, and helping employees succeed in their roles.

You'll also help match DSPs with clients based on personality, skills, needs, and program fit.

Keep Programs Running Strong

You'll oversee the day-to-day operations of CBS programs, making sure staffing, scheduling, payroll, attendance, transportation, facilities, and program logistics are handled accurately and on time.

When something unexpected happens—and in community services, it will—you'll be one of the people helping find the solution.

Create Exceptional Client Experiences

Our programs should be more than a schedule of activities. They should provide opportunities for clients to build confidence, independence, relationships, and meaningful community connections.

You'll work with employees, clients, families, Support Coordinators, and other stakeholders to continually improve the quality of the services we provide.

Own the Details

Great programs require great operations. You'll be responsible for:

  • Employee supervision and performance management
  • Payroll approval
  • Client and DSP matching
  • Billing and attendance accuracy
  • CBS budget management
  • Monthly CBS reporting
  • Quarterly Support Coordinator reports
  • Incident reporting and required state submissions
  • Regulatory and program compliance
  • Vehicle oversight
  • Program site standards and cleanliness
  • Emergency response and problem-solving
  • Stakeholder communication and satisfaction
Help Us Grow

We're looking for someone who doesn't just maintain programs—they look for ways to make them better.

You'll help identify opportunities to grow clientele, increase units billed, strengthen existing programs, improve employee retention, and develop new opportunities for the people we serve.

Who We're Looking For

You might be a great fit if you are someone who:

  • Loves leading and developing people
  • Can organize a lot of moving pieces without losing sight of the bigger picture
  • Takes ownership instead of waiting to be told what to do
  • Communicates clearly and professionally
  • Can prioritize, delegate, and make decisions
  • Handles changing situations with flexibility and good judgment
  • Builds positive relationships with employees, clients, families, and community partners
  • Understands that leadership means both supporting people and holding them accountable
  • Is comfortable being measured by results and meeting or exceeding expectations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Supervisory or management experience
  • Experience working with people with disabilities
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency—or the ability to quickly become proficient—with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, email, and other web-based systems
What Success Looks Like

A successful CBS Manager creates programs where:

Clients want to participate. Employees want to work. Families and Support Coordinators trust us. Programs operate efficiently. And the department continues to grow.

We're looking for someone who can balance the people side of leadership with the business side of running successful programs.

Competitive Pay & Benefits

OPPO offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including:

  • Paid Time Off
  • Paid Maternity/Partner Leave
  • Holiday Pay
  • Mileage Reimbursement Program
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • HSA
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Performance bonus tied to key performance indicators
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to travel (site visits) up to 25% Locally in your own vehicle
  • Ability to spend prolonged periods sitting, standing, and walking
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Ready to Lead Something Meaningful?

If you're looking for a management role where you can lead people, improve programs, solve real-world challenges, and see the impact of your work every day, we'd love to hear from you.

Come help us create more safe, happy, and healthy OPPOrtunities
