Overview:
Fleet Feet is looking for a passionate, community-focused Community Outreach Manager to lead local marketing initiatives, foster meaningful relationships, and drive customer engagement through creative events and strategic partnerships. In this role, you'll play a vital part in growing our brand, acquiring new customers, and ensuring our store remains a hub for the local fitness and running community.

What You'll Do:
Community Engagement & Marketing
  • Collaborate with the Operating Partner to design and implement marketing and outreach strategies that align with business goals.
  • Cultivate relationships with local organizations, diverse running and fitness groups, and race directors.
  • Plan, coordinate, and staff local races and events, ensuring strong brand presence and engagement.
  • Manage store events and partnerships to drive in-store traffic and sales.
  • Ensure all local marketing aligns with Fleet Feet brand guidelines.
  • Work with the Fleet Feet Store Support Team's regional marketing contact to stay aligned with company-wide initiatives.
  • Regularly update website and social media with compelling content for local audiences.

Sales Floor Leadership
  • Spend at least 10 hours per week on the sales floor, using the Fleet Feet outfitting experience to serve customers.
  • Provide hands-on support to the Retail Experience Manager and lead by example during floor shifts.
  • Equip staff with event knowledge so they can confidently share information with customers.

Team Leadership (If Applicable)
  • Mentor and guide outreach coordinators through weekly one-on-ones and performance development.
  • Set expectations, delegate effectively, and ensure outreach activities run smoothly.
  • Foster a team environment built on trust, collaboration, and community service.

What We're Looking For:
  • Proven experience in grassroots marketing or community outreach (retail preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills in both public and team-facing environments.
  • Strong multitasking, time management, and decision-making abilities.
  • Comfort with digital tools such as Microsoft Office, Canva, and Google Suite.
  • Ties to the local running/fitness community a plus.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and some holidays.
  • Ability to travel locally for outreach and events.
