Job description

CHRISTUS Health - Community Impact VISTA Leader
CHRISTUS Health is a nonprofit health system committed to strengthening community capacity and advancing long-term solutions that address poverty and related challenges. Through the CHRISTUS Community Connection project, AmeriCorps VISTA members focus on building sustainable systems, partnerships, and organizational infrastructure that expand access to resources and improve community conditions. The Community Impact VISTA Leader will provide leadership and capacity-building support for five AmeriCorps VISTA Members serving across CHRISTUS Health. The VISTA Leader will strengthen internal systems and coordination related to community impact initiatives, associate volunteering, anchor mission efforts, and VISTA recruitment, onboarding, and development. This position is a capacity-building leadership role. The VISTA Leader supports VISTA members and organizational systems and does not provide direct services to clients, patients, or community members. Applicants must have successfully completed at least one full year of AmeriCorps, AmeriCorps VISTA, or Peace Corps service.
Member Duties : The Community Impact VISTA Leader provides leadership and capacity-building support for five AmeriCorps VISTA Members serving across CHRISTUS Health. The VISTA Leader supports onboarding, orientation, communication, and professional development while serving as a resource to members and site supervisors. Responsibilities include developing systems, tools, and processes that strengthen associate volunteering, anchor mission initiatives, and AmeriCorps VISTA recruitment and onboarding. The VISTA Leader assists with project coordination, documentation, reporting, and transition planning to support sustainability and program continuity. All activities focus on organizational capacity building and VISTA member support. This role does not include direct service.
