Job description

Position Summary: The Community Center Director is responsible for leadership, oversight, development, and improvement of all Community Center programs, including supervision of staff and volunteers.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Supervise participants in all Community Center programs including scheduling and approving timecards for employees
  • Plan, coordinate, promote, execute, evaluate, and participate in Community Center programs
  • Development of the curriculum, recreation, crafts and other structured and unstructured activities
  • Follow Safe from Harm guidelines
  • Plan and attend special events related to the Community Center Programs
  • Maintain accurate and up to date statistics for all programs and monthly reporting
  • Supervise staff members and volunteers to ensure that the Corps Community Center is maintained in a reasonably presentable and safe condition
  • Work alongside the Custodian to ensure that all janitorial and maintenance supplies are restocked as needed
  • Provide backup support and assistance to other staff as needed
  • Assist with the processing and distribution of correspondence, memos, and reports as needed
  • Assist with maintaining various databases and generate any related correspondence
  • Provide accurate reports to local groups and organizations as directed
  • Provide support for seasonal administration including processing of
  • Bell ringer applications
  • Volunteer database entry
  • Christmas driving
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma / GED, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • 1+ years' experience in working directly with children in a school and/or Christian environment

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Be able to drive a 12-passenger van or bus with a Chauffeurs
  • Must have the ability to work with youth, homeless families and demonstrate acceptance of cultural, racial, and economic diversity.
  • Maintain confidentiality

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
  • Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint
  • Willingness to learn new software as needed

Certificates and Licenses:

  • Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed
  • Must have and maintain a current valid chauffeur's license and pass the Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR); or ability to gain it within 60 days
