Description:

The City of Fishers is hiring Lifeguards to help provide a safe and welcoming environment for our residents and visitors with all shifts available! Were looking for vigilant, safety-minded individuals who enjoy working with the public and take pride in maintaining a secure aquatic setting. As a lifeguard, youll monitor our indoor pool at the Community Center year-round, and during the summer months, you may have an opportunity to work at the Geist Waterfront Park beach.

Examples of Duties
  • Supervise swimming activities and ensure that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed.
  • Warn swimmers of improper activities or danger and enforce pool regulations and water safety policies.
  • Perform water rescues, administers proper first aid and/or CPR, if needed.
  • Participate in community activities/rental events at the Fishers Community Center pool and/or Geist Waterfront Park.
  • Refrain from socializing while guarding and follow proper radio protocol when communicating with staff.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all patrons by addressing inquiries, resolving concerns, and fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment. Solicit feedback from participants to continuously improve programs and services.
  • Attend mandatory meetings and coach development in-services as scheduled.
  • Set up and take down deck furniture.
  • Test water chemistry and complete cleaning and maintenace checklist.
  • Perform duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 15 years of age. To work at Geist Waterfront Park lifeguards must be at least 16 years old.
  • Current Lifeguard Certification including First Aid, CPR/AED, and Emergency Oxygen or ability to attend Lifeguard Certification training through City of Fishers.
  • Must be able to pass the American Red Cross Lifeguard Prerequisite skills test.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all patrons and staff.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • When working at Geist Waterfront Park, work will be outside in various weather conditions.
  • Attend scheduled meetings and training sessions.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
