Description
The Town of Fountain Hills(fountainhillsaz.gov) has an excellent part-time job opportunity available as an Operations Support Worker in the Community Services Department.
Join the Town of Fountain Hills Community Center team in a flexible part-time role supporting day-to-day operations and helping keep the facility welcoming, organized, and ready for use.
Under direction from the Community Center Manager, with guidance from the Community Center Operations Coordinator; ensures the set-up and take down of chairs, tables, staging, sound equipment, dance floor or other equipment in accordance with the lease requirements. Supports a wide variety of facilities operations at the Community Center. Communicates with the general public, clients, vendors and management in order to answer inquiries, and ensure events, classes, and other functions run smoothly at the Community Center.
This position is open until filled with applications reviewed weekly.
  • Scheduling flexibility is required including evenings, weekends, and occasional early mornings.
  • 10-20 hours per week is anticipated, however this varies seasonally
  • Winter is the busy season

Examples of Duties
  • Ensures the set-up and take down of chairs, tables, staging, sound equipment, dance floor or other equipment in accordance with the lease requirements.
  • Working knowledge of all audio visual, sound, lighting, kitchen and bar equipment. Responsibilities include set-up and basic operation of equipment.
  • May occasionally opens and/or secures facility before and after events. Completes event reports noting attendance and any significant problems.
  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turn-around times, streamline work process, and works cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
  • Performs custodial duties as needed, including but not limited to cleaning, sanitizing and replenishing restrooms. Washes windows, walls and mirrors. Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes and vacuums floors. Dusts and cleans offices. Replaces light bulbs, cleans and polishes fixtures and empties waste receptacles and ashtrays.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Typical Qualifications
  • High School equivalency
  • Audio, visual and customer service skills. Previous banquet or meeting facilities skills a plus. **
  • Possession of a valid drivers license for a minimum of two years with a good driving record. CPR/AED Certification.
  • Equivalent combinations of experience and training that meet the minimum qualifications may be substituted.
  • Requires good reading skills. Being able to follow written instruction is important in this position.
  • Work requires basic math skills. The ability to calculate and balance cash in and cash out transactions.
  • Work requires good written skills. Communication between shifts is essential.
  • The responsibility of customer service and client satisfaction is important to the success of our goal.
  • Customer/Client relations and team building skills are required. Communication and the ability to work in a team environment are essential.

Supplemental Information
  • Position is considered "Part-Time Non-Regularly Scheduled, Temporary, or Seasonal" employee classification. Therefore the position does not include benefits.

Position does not receive benefits other than State-Mandated Paid Sick Leave.
