NonviolentPeaceforce(NP) is a dynamic, international non-governmental organisation. We work with people affected by violent conflicts to enhance their security and dignity through Unarmed Civilian Protection (UCP). We work to reduce violence, protect civilians in countries affected by violent conflict and its aftermath, and help transform the world's response to conflict situations.


JOB SUMMARY


The Communications Assistant handles the operational and administrative workload that enables NP's Communication strategies and plans to runsmoothly; managingscheduling, formatting, organizing digital assets, preparing drafts, and supporting routine updates across social media and the website.TheCommunicationsAssistant ensures consistent execution, workflow efficiency, and the day-to-day maintenance that keeps the Communications ecosystem functioning effectively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Format, upload, and publish content across social media platforms.
  • Ensure all content is accessible and discoverable - applying alt text, captions, tagging, and link formatting across platforms.
  • Support translation workflows to extend the reach of NP's work across languages.
  • Draft social media assets, including:
  • Graphics using branded templates
  • Short video clips (cutting, trimming, subtitling)
  • Media resized andoptimizedfor platform specifications
  • Upload press clips, blogs, and publications to the website, keeping NP's digital presence current and organized.
  • Monitor incoming comments and messages across channels, flagging and routing asappropriate.
  • Pull and compile analytics from social and web dashboards to help inform communications performance.
  • Monitor breaking news, media trends, and viral stories that align with NP's work to helpidentifypotential media opportunities,
  • Support in the research and update of NP's Master MediaList, andconsolidatethe contacts on Cision into the same list.
  • Help track and record NP's media outreach efforts and media hits on Salesforce.
  • Help create a regular newsletter featuring NP's media mentions and other relevant humanitarian stories where NP has a presence
  • Performadditionaltasks and duties as the teams needs evolve and asidentifiedby the supervisor
