RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Hormel Foods Corporate Communications team is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Website Lead to manage and evolve our corporate and retail brand websites. This role will be responsible for creating and maintaining content, coordinating enterprise-wide website governance policies, and optimizing content for domestic and international markets in coordination with marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise, creative skills, and strong project management capabilities. 

  • Website Management: Execute and oversee website changes, ensuring content is current and aligns with brand standards. Leads website-related projects from concept to execution, including redesigns, new feature rollouts, and content updates, coordinating internal and agency resources. 
  • Content Development: Develop and manage editorial calendars for corporate and brand websites. Create and optimize content for corporate and brand websites to improve search engine and generative engine visibility and audience engagement. Create, coordinate and execute supporting social media content as needed. Develop documentation for internal and external contributors to ensure consistent content practices for execution online. 
  • Copywriting: Write and edit copy for web using SEO, GEO and accessibility best practices as well as other communications channels, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with brand voice.
  • Reporting and analytics: Tracks performance and engagement metrics to inform ongoing site structure and content improvements 
  • Governance: Coordinates enterprise-wide website governance policies in partnership with IT, Compliance, Legal, and other internal stakeholders. Partners with subject matter experts to ensure digital content reflects current privacy, security, and regulatory expectations. Advises on hosting, content management systems, and third-party integration strategies for the enterprise.  

QUALIFICATIONS:

Level of position offered (Communications Manager or Senior Communications Manager) will be determined based on experience and skillset. 

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, English or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in website management, digital communications, or content strategy. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft clear, engaging and brand-consistent copy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and stay up to date on new tools, technologies and industry trends and an ability to quickly adapt to changes. 
  • Familiarity with content management systems, Adobe graphic design and video editing tools. Basic knowledge of SEO and GEO best practices is beneficial. 
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated high level of initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and leadership skills.

LOCATION: Austin, MN, Global Headquarters
A comprehensive relocation package to the Austin, MN area will be offered, if required.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Travel may be necessary 10% of the time.

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for the Communications Manager/Senior Communications Manager - Website role is between $78,075 - $124,700 per year, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
