Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Must be currently enrolled as a student at the college and eligible for student employment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service in a professional, courteous, and student-centered manner.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in accordance with FERPA and institutional policies.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams), and the ability to learn new software and technology systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to research information and refer students to appropriate campus resources.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records.
  • Ability to work scheduled hours reliably, including occasional evenings or special events, if required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous customer service, reception, call center, or office experience.
  • Experience using student information systems, customer relationship management (CRM) software, or document management systems.
  • Familiarity with college policies, procedures, and student support services.

Summary of Duties:
Student employment provides students with the opportunity to gain valuable work experience while supporting campus programs and services
In this position, the student will
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for students, providing timely, accurate, and student-centered support through in-person, telephone, live chat, email, and outreach communications.
  • Create a welcoming and inclusive environment by assisting students in the Gateway lobby, responding to inquiries, providing information, and connecting students with appropriate campus resources and services.
  • Utilize institutional systems, knowledge resources, and communication tools to research and resolve student questions, document interactions, and maintain accurate records while ensuring compliance with FERPA and confidentiality requirements.
  • Support daily operations by utilizing student information systems, customer relationship management tools, document management systems, and Microsoft applications to deliver efficient, responsive, and high-quality service that promotes student success and engagement.
