SUPERVISES:There are direct reports with this position. POSITION SUMMARY:Under direct supervision of the Commissary Manager, plans and manages staff activities related to warehouse operations, custodial services, and inventory stocking in a commissary under the terms of a federal contract. Employees in this job class manage staff, provide customer support, and oversee purchasing/accounts payable, budget and operations management within a commissary. This job requires knowledge of distribution operations, inventory management, and the ability to organize and direct work processes and manage a work team. TYPICAL DUTIES:1. *Plans, organizes and manages contractually provided warehouse management, custodialservices, and inventory stocking of a commissary, with full responsibility for budgeting and meeting operational goals. Provides for quality control, inventory management, record keeping, and management reporting.2. *Manages compliance with contract terms, conditions and obligations. Develops a professionalworking relationship with key contract personnel, and establishes official lines of communication.3. *Supervises employees; ensures a competent, motivated team through hiring, training, development, counseling and reviewing the performance of employees.4. *Establishes daily staffing requirements based on volumes and customer demands, andcoordinates daily work schedules to create the most efficiency while providing proper service levels.5. *Responds to email and telephone requests, and serves as an information source regardingdepartment operations and services.6. *Establishes departmental work processes and maintains written policies and procedures. Schedules and prioritizes tasks and ensures adherence to procedures, regulations and guidelines.7. *Tracks operational data and produces a variety of management reports and presentations.8.*Meets regularly with customers to ensure good service and clear communications, define expectations, resolve problems, and improve processes.9. *Conducts and participates in a variety of departmental and other meetings10. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.* Denotes Essential Job Function MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: One year of distribution management experience, including at least one year in a supervisory position; Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities and/or physical challenges,preferred; Familiarity with contract terms and conditions; Knowledge of Cal OSHA and OSHA occupational safety regulations; Supervisory skills to hire qualified employees, provide for their professional development,administer performance management and disciplinary processes effectively, and address employee relations appropriately; Ability to effectively supervise and develop assigned team to meet production/service goals whileadhering to safety policies and rules; Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to make presentations and respond toinquiries by senior management, customers and/or employees; Demonstrated leadership, organizational, reasoning, problem solving and analytical skills; Exceptional customer service skills; Human relation skills to build effective relationships with team, customers and public; Advanced computer literacy including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database andpresentation software; Knowledge of business English including vocabulary, spelling, and correct grammatical usageand punctuation; Mathematical skills to include the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios,and proportions to practical situations; Ability to establish priorities and solve a wide range of business, operational and strategicmanagement problems; Flexibility to respond to changing work priorities and handle numerous projects at the same time.

May be exposed to noise from equipment and depending on external weather conditions exposure to heat, cold, wind, and rain.
