Participates in growth and analysis of new stocks received as part of the collection, including planting in soil and selective medium, maintenance, harvesting, quality control testing and preparing seeds for storage. Assists with shipping, receiving and preparation of seeds for distribution. Performs data entry and records maintenance for general stock center operations. Answers customer enquiries related to registration, ordering, and payment. Assists with administrative duties including answering telephone, routing enquiries to the appropriate staff member, and monitoring past due invoices. Engages in outreach activities including preparation of materials for exhibits and staffing booths at science fairs and local events. Position requires working in a greenhouse which can be warm and dusty at times. Some work will require that you spend a short period of time in a cold room that is between 40-45 degrees Fahrenheit.
Required: High School diploma or GED.
Desired: One year of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Word, and relational databases is desired. Interest in plant science.

The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest college and the academic heart of the university. The College hosts 81 majors. The pay range for this job profile is $15.15 - $19.79. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
