Job description

MCR Safety, a Bunzl company, is seeking an Commercial Credit & Collections Specialist for their headquarters office in Collierville, TN. The Credit & Collections Specialist will perform all phases of collections & account servicing for an assigned portion of the customer account aging.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with customers, sales staff, managers and officers in a professional manner through written and oral communications.
  • Assess account aging for past dues and perform collections activities including negotiating payment schedules using discretionary judgment.
  • Analyze account aging for changes in payment trends or other activities that may indicate additional credit risk and adjust account blocking status as needed.
  • Evaluate credit hold status and release of orders using discretionary judgment.
  • Perform dispute research including proofs of delivery, packing slips, payment remittances, etc as needed to resolve past due balances.
  • Prepare correspondence on delinquent accounts requiring special handling.
  • Manage overall credit risk of aging by monitoring account credit limits and submitting change recommendations to the Global Credit and Collection Manager.
  • Escalate troubled accounts to Collection Supervisor.
  • Perform multiple tasks at once and practice effective time management.
  • Perform back-up tasks during absences of other department personnel.
  • Act as a resource person to tax and bank auditors during reviews related credit and account issues.
  • Perform special projects & additional tasks as needed.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Business or related degree preferred.
  • 3-5 Years of high volume Business to Business or Commercial Credit experience.
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Must have working knowledge of Windows and Word / Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Knowledge of SAP preferred
  • Very effective organizational & multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to prioritize job functions and demonstrate flexibility in performing essential functions.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
