CUCM Engineer

The Opportunity:

Reliable, secure communications are essential to mission success, but how can an organization ensure its voice, video, and collaboration infrastructure will support both current operations and evolving mission requirements? Designing, integrating, and sustaining enterprise collaboration solutions requires a combination of technical expertise and careful planning. That's why we need you, a Unified Communications Engineer who can develop, deploy, and support the collaboration capabilities the Navy depends on.

As a Cisco Unified Communications Engineer on our team, you'll use your expertise in Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Voice over IP (VoIP), Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), voice gateways, dial plans, Cisco Meeting Server (CMS), and collaboration applications such as Cisco Jabber, Webex, and Microsoft Teams to support mission-critical communications. You will configure, integrate, and troubleshoot Cisco voice, video, and conferencing solutions while ensuring secure, reliable, and highly available collaboration services.

You'll apply your knowledge of Cisco collaboration technologies, voice and video endpoints, conferencing platforms, enterprise networking, virtualization, and IP communications to help deploy and sustain secure collaboration capabilities across classified environments. Working alongside a team of technical experts, you'll solve complex interoperability and operational challenges while supporting the modernization of Navy communications systems.

Your knowledge of Cisco collaboration technologies, enterprise networking, emerging communications platforms, and industry best practices will help optimize mission operations and improve user collaboration. Using your experience with voice, video, and collaboration technologies, you'll serve as a trusted technical advisor supporting mission-critical programs while helping the Department of Defense deploy next-generation communications capabilities.

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience engineering, administering, and troubleshooting Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) in an enterprise environment

  • 5+ years of experience implementing, configuring, and supporting VoIP or IP telephony solutions, including SIP, SCCP, dial plans, and voice gateways

  • 3+ years of experience deploying and administering Cisco collaboration applications, including Cisco Jabber, Webex, Microsoft Teams, or Cisco IM and Presence

  • 3+ years of experience configuring, deploying, and supporting Cisco voice and video endpoints, including IP phones and Video Teleconferencing (VTC) systems

  • Experience administering enterprise conferencing platforms such as Cisco Meeting Server (CMS)

  • Experience troubleshooting voice, video, and collaboration issues using SIP, RTP, QoS, and call trace analysis

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • HS diploma or GED

  • DoD 8140 Cybersecurity Certification such as CompTIA Security+ CE Certification

Nice If You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience with enterprise network engineering, including routing, switching, VLANs, and QoS

  • Experience administering Cisco Unity Connection voicemail services

  • Experience with Cisco Expressway, Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE), or Session Border Controllers (SBCs)

  • Experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, or other virtualized collaboration environments

  • Experience deploying and managing virtual appliances

  • Experience supporting classified Department of Defense collaboration environments

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Current Cisco Certified Specialist - Collaboration Core (CLCOR), CCNP Collaboration, or CCIE Collaboration Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
