New Church Development Representative

Location: Near Queeny Park (322 Sovereign Ct.) Job Type: Full-Time Compensation: Weekly Base Salary + Commission

About Guide Book Publishing

Guide Book Publishing (GBP) is the industry leader in providing direct-mailed member directories and communication tools to congregations across the United States. Our mission is to help churches connect their members and ministries—at no cost to the congregation. By bridging the gap between local businesses and faith communities, we provide a vital service funded entirely by local advertising.

The Role

We are seeking a New Church Development Representative to expand our footprint nationwide. In this role, you aren’t just "selling"—you are offering a valuable, free resource to pastors and church administrators. Your primary goal is to identify, contact, and sign new congregations to our service.

Once you secure the partnership, our internal Account Executive team handles the advertising sales. You earn commission as those publications go live and revenue is collected.

Key Responsibilities

  • Outreach: Execute high-volume outreach (phone calls, Zoom presentations, and emails) to prospective churches using provided lead lists.
  • Consultative Selling: Clearly communicate the value of the GBP directory and ministry sections to decision-makers (Pastors, Parish Administrators, etc.).
  • Relationship Management: Guide the church through the initial sign-up process and set the stage for a successful transition to our ad sales team.
  • Goal Achievement: Aim for a target of 10+ new church partnerships per month following an initial ramp-up period.

Qualifications

  • Church-Centric Experience: You have previously worked for a church or have experience selling services/products to religious organizations. You understand the unique culture and communication style of faith communities.
  • Sales Drive: Proven ability to manage a sales funnel and "close" a partnership.
  • Tech Savvy: Comfortable using Zoom for presentations, Excel for lead tracking, and managing digital sales materials (PDFs/Videos).
  • Location: 322 Sovereign Ct., Ballwin, MO 63011. M-F 8:30am-5pm.

Compensation & Benefits

We provide a stable financial foundation while offering high-side potential as your signed churches begin their publication cycles.

  • Weekly Base Salary: $300, Designed to provide consistent cash flow as you build your funnel.
  • Commission Structure: 5% commission in Year 1, 3% in Year 2, and 1% in Year 3 (Paid at cash-in).
  • Ramp-Up Support: Open to discussing a draw against future commissions during the first 3 months.
