Executive Assistant to CEO

 

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Executive Assistant provides executive support in a one-on-one working relationship. The Executive Assistant serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external constituencies on all matters pertaining to the Office of the CEO. The Executive Assistant also serves as a liaison to the senior management team; organizes and coordinates executive outreach and external relations efforts; and oversees special projects.

 

The Executive Assistant must be creative and enjoy working within a small, entrepreneurial environment that is mission-driven, results-focused, and community-oriented.

 

The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities.

 

The Executive Assistant will have the ability to work independently on projects, from conception to completion, and must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail

  • Assist in coordinating the agenda of senior management team meetings and off-sites, and all-staff meetings

  • Passion to support family life and personal businesses outside of Directive

  • Prioritizes conflicting needs; handles matters expeditiously, proactively, and follows through on projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures

  • Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff and external partners

  • Deep desire to learn Directive’s business and key personal/direct reports of CEO

  • Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability

  • Emotional maturity paired with overall kindness and empathy

  • Highly resourceful team player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently

  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and response

  • Forward-looking thinker, who pro-actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions

What You Offer

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Must be available during working East Coast hours: 8am-6pm M-F EST (working hours of CEO)

  • 5+ years of experience supporting C-Level Executives, preferably in a digital marketing organization

  • Experience and interest in internal and external communications, partnership development, and creating efficiencies in even the day-to-day tasks

  • Proficient in founder branding and executive management/support

  • Experience planning corporate events and travel to/from

Work Environment Requirements

As a remote-first company, you’ll have the ability to work from your home office. For some positions, as posted, we will accommodate global opportunities where we have established businesses, including Canada, Mexico, and the UK. For global locations, you must have established and current work authorization and permanently reside in that country.

This role has the opportunity to operate 100% virtually from your home office. We primarily collaborate with our colleagues through virtual meetings (Zoom), and Slack. In this role, you will be required to operate a laptop computer (PC or Mac available), computer software platforms, and other office productivity tools as necessary. Due to the nature of this role, you must be able to remain stationary for extended periods, must be able to observe and interpret written and/or verbal communication, must have reliable internet access, and a professional background.
