Responsibilities

The Business Transformation Associate position is primarily focused on the leading Business Transformation ("BT") initiatives. This role will assist with requirements setting, process and system documentation, leading user acceptance testing, and articulating technical concepts to non-technical users to align with the Firm's strategic Initiatives while working with Firm's Business Customer and Hines Technology and Data teams (and or external vendor technology). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide leadership and guidance on critical business functions and work with business personnel to understand pain points and identify opportunities to create efficiencies.
  • Create technology solutions and support growth in tech stack offered and supported by BT, including development of additional competencies and Hines tech stack expertise to determine if gaps exist in the firm. Where appropriate, manage and execute builds using the Hines tech stack.
  • Lead and consult on the evaluation of business processes, anticipate requirements, identify opportunities for optimization, and assist in developing and implementing solutions.
  • Lead discovery meetings with cross-functional stakeholders to share ideas and findings; oversee documentation of lessons learned and create opportunities for economies of repetition and scale.
  • Provide recommendations to Business Transformation Director/Senior Director/Managing
  • Director on proper course of action for a given process using Discovery findings as support.
  • Provide people leadership which includes daily guidance and mentoring to all staff to encourage on-going professional development and manage the activities of all direct reports to ensure the timely achievement of project plans within prescribed policies, procedures, and standard business practices.
  • Serve as temporary product owner for newly implemented systems or processes. Coordinate with stakeholders and other BT Manager(s) to construct operational plan, scalable operating procedures and establish monitoring strategy for all newly implemented business processes
  • Lead change management to properly offboard appropriate process owners.
  • Provide project oversight to BT Analysts and oversee management of projects by monitoring performance and using knowledge of other team members to assess BT use cases.
  • Develop and optimize internal BT project plan blueprints, as well as standardizing external facing collateral/job aids.
  • Collaborate with IT to customize internal developments or third-party vendor integrations.
  • Create a forum for the team to share lessons learned on projects throughout the year.
  • Develop and oversee training needs for subject areas that BT Senior Analysts have mastered and developed for the benefit of other groups and for newly implemented systems.
  • Maintain and expand knowledge of current BT solutions and map business needs to those solutions.
  • Conduct external research of real estate industry best practices (where possible) and determine if Hines' requirements are in line with the market.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is strongly preferred.
  • Eight or more years of experience assisting with implementing new business process or technologies, including software testing and training or relevant real estate for firm experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, PowerBi, Smartsheet, and firm wide used tools.
  • To gain knowledge of tech stack Senior Associate is leading. This includes actioning technical work, perform trainings, resolve customer issues (with CSM as required).
  • Project management certifications are preferred but not required.
  • Board accredited certifications are preferred but not required.
  • Ability to Lift laptop (approximately 5-10 lbs).
  • Ability to operate a computer, phone system and general office equipment.
  • Work over 40 hours per week as business needs deem appropriate.
  • Work indoors approximately 100% of the time.
