Responsibilities
Your Role:
The Automation Transformation Manager leads enterprise-wide automation initiatives that drive process efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. This role is responsible for identifying, prioritizing, and champion innovative technologies including robotics, Industrial IoT (IIoT), AI, machine learning, advanced analytics, computer vision, and process automation to eliminate waste, optimize labor utilization, and create sustainable competitive advantages. The Manager partners closely with business units, IT, and data teams to deliver measurable business outcomes through strategic automation.

Industrial Automation
  • Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for manufacturing automation and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage robotics, AI, machine learning, vision systems, and intelligent process automation to improve productivity and reduce manual work.
  • Collaborate with controls engineers and operations teams to modernize PLC, SCADA, MES, IoT, and manufacturing execution systems.
  • Drive standardization of automation architectures, control strategies, and best practices across multiple sites.
  • Ensure automation solutions improve reliability, safety, quality, throughput, and equipment effectiveness.
  • Support integration between operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT) platforms to enable data-driven decision making.

Labor Optimization & Workforce Transformation
  • Analyze manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for labor reduction, redeployment, and productivity improvements through automation.
  • Redesign workflows to eliminate non-value-added activities and create more efficient ways of working.
  • Partner with operations leaders to optimize staffing models while maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Develop strategies that enable employees to transition from repetitive manual tasks to higher-value analytical and technical roles.

Change Management
  • Lead organizational change initiatives that ensure successful adoption of automation technologies and new operating models.
  • Develop communication, training, and stakeholder engagement plans to support transformation efforts.
  • Build cross-functional alignment among manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, IT, HR, and executive leadership.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and digital adoption throughout the organization.

Operational Efficiency
  • Drive initiatives that improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), cycle time, throughput, downtime reduction, and cost performance.
  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies to eliminate waste and standardize best practices.
  • Leverage manufacturing data and advanced analytics to identify process bottlenecks and optimization opportunities.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver sustainable efficiency improvements across multiple manufacturing sites.

Leadership & Collaboration
  • Manage complex transformation projects from concept through implementation and value realization.
  • Mentor engineering and operations teams on automation technologies and digital manufacturing practices.
  • Collaborate with finance to validate cost savings and capital investment returns.
  • Present transformation strategies, project updates, and business outcomes to executive leadership.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; Master's preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in process improvement, automation, or digital transformation leadership roles.
  • Proven success managing large-scale automation or RPA programs across multiple business units.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process optimization methodologies (certification preferred).

Technical Skills
  • Hands-on experience with automation platforms such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, or Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Knowledge of process mining tools (e.g., Celonis, ABBYY Timeline) and workflow technologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based solutions, APIs, and system integrations.
  • Understanding of AI/ML, OCR, and data analytics technologies is a plus.

Bonus Eligibility
