Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Business Development Specialist is responsible for driving referral growth and expanding River's Bend PC's presence throughout Michigan by developing and maintaining strategic relationships with healthcare providers, community organizations, employers, Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), first responder agencies, hospitals, and other referral partners. This individual serves as a professional liaison for River's Bend, promoting the organization's outpatient behavioral health services while identifying opportunities to increase referrals, strengthen community partnerships, and support organizational growth. Working closely with the Director of Business Development, the Business Development Specialist executes territory strategies, monitors referral trends, and represents River's Bend at networking events, conferences, educational presentations, and community outreach initiatives.

The ideal candidate is relationship-driven, highly organized, self-motivated, and passionate about helping individuals access high-quality mental health and substance use treatment. This position requires frequent travel throughout assigned territories and the ability to represent River's Bend professionally within the healthcare community.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or related field. A master's degree is preferred but not required.

REQUIRED RESPONSIBILITES:

  1. Develop, cultivate, and maintain referral relationships with physicians, therapists, hospitals, residential treatment centers, Community Mental Health agencies, EAPs, employers, schools, attorneys, unions, and community organizations.
  2. Conduct routine in-person and virtual meetings with referral sources to educate partners on River's Bend services.
  3. Develop strategic account plans to increase referrals and strengthen partnerships.
  4. Identify new referral opportunities and prospect new business throughout assigned territories.
  5. Assist the Director of Business Development with territory growth strategies.
  6. Monitor market trends and competitor activity.
  7. Represent River's Bend at conferences, networking events, CEU programs, health fairs, and community outreach events.
  8. Coordinate educational presentations for healthcare professionals, employers, unions, schools, and first responder agencies.
  9. Maintain current knowledge of River's Bend programs, admission criteria, and payer relationships.
  10. Document referral activities, meetings, and business development efforts in CRM systems.
  11. Collaborate with Intake, Clinical Leadership, Marketing, and Executive Leadership.
  12. Communicate referral partner feedback to leadership to improve services.
  13. Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
