Job description

The Center for Sustainability and Excellence (CSE), a global sustainability and ESG consulting and training firm, is looking for an experienced Freelance Business Development Associate to support the expansion of our consulting / training client base across priority international markets.


This opportunity is ideal for a senior business development professional, consultant, or commercial specialist with proven experience in B2B services sales and a strong ability to open conversations with corporate decision-makers.


🔹 About the Role

As a freelance consultant, working approximately 8-10 hours per week, you will support CSE’s growth by identifying and developing new business opportunities for our sustainability and ESG consulting and training services.


Your focus will be on qualified lead generation, new account acquisition, strategic outreach, and the creation of new synergies with companies, partners, and organizations across Europe, the US, and Canada.


🔹 Key Focus Areas

  • Identify and approach potential corporate clients, partners, and decision-makers
  • Develop qualified business opportunities for CSE’s consulting / training services
  • Promote CSE’s expertise in sustainability strategy, ESG reporting, climate, Scope 3, ESG ratings, training, and related services
  • Initiate and manage targeted outreach through LinkedIn, email, and professional networks
  • Present CSE’s consulting / training portfolio in a clear and compelling way
  • Collaborate with the internal CSE team to align outreach, priorities, and business development goals.


🔹 Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in B2B business development, new account acquisition, or professional services sales
  • Experience in consulting, sustainability, ESG, climate, corporate responsibility, training, or related sectors will be considered a strong advantage
  • Existing professional network in Europe, the US, or Canada is highly desirable
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage outreach activity, and deliver measurable results
  • Commercial mindset with confidence in approaching senior corporate contacts
  • Basic understanding of sustainability and ESG concepts, consulting services, and corporate training solutions.
