The Job Details:

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving growth by expanding existing customer relationships and identifying new business opportunities across warehousing and transportation services. This role partners closely with regional operations leadership and cross-functional teams to develop tailored solutions for customers, while engaging directly with supply chain leaders at leading food manufacturing companies.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of warehousing, distribution, and transportation capabilities, services, and solutions
  • Identifies, qualifies, and develops new business opportunities and target accounts
  • Assesses warehousing, distribution, and transportation requirements for prospective customers on a local, regional, and national basis
  • Coordinates and leads customer prospect meetings, site visits, and presentations
  • Develops and delivers formal and informal proposals for company services, both written and verbal
  • Develops, analyzes, and presents pricing and rate structures aligned with customer requirements and company profitability goals
  • Maintains ongoing account management responsibilities, including regular customer communications and relationship development
  • Manages sales pipeline activity, forecasting, and reporting through CRM and internal reporting tools
  • Collaborates closely with Operations and cross-functional teams on:
    • Lead generation and prospecting efforts
    • Follow-up on customer inquiries and solution development
    • Individual facility capabilities, programs, and constraints
    • Local, regional, and national account growth opportunities
    • Space planning and network optimization
    • Profitability analysis, rate reviews, and recommended adjustments
  • Supports RFI/RFP responses and contract development in coordination with internal stakeholders
  • Must have ability to cover business expenses prior to company reimbursement

The Job Specifics:

  • Location and Department: McDonough, GA, Lumberton, NC or Warsaw, NC (reports to Head Office), Business Development
  • Reports To: Sr. Manager, Business Development
  • Travel Amount: Willingness to travel a minimum of 50% as required
  • Full-Time, Exempt
  • Salaried, Semi-Monthly paid
  • Salary Range: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00/yr.

What We Are Looking For:

The Ideal candidate will have or be able to complete the below qualifications.

Education:

  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience in sales, marketing, supply chain

Qualifications:

  • 2–5+ years of experience in sales, business development, or a related role.
  • Working knowledge of warehousing, distribution, and transportation services.
  • Experience using CRM tools to manage sales pipelines, forecasting, and reporting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
