Job description

Business Development Representative

Top-of-Funnel Sales | Outbound Prospecting | Indianapolis

Why Work Here?

Are you a corporate misfit? Tired of politics, boards, venture capital, and private equity wrecking a job or a culture you loved? Or maybe you have had some success in transactional sales or business development and want to take the next step financially, professionally, and personally. If so, the Business Development role at Lushin might be what you are searching for.

Lushin is a fast-growing company with a strong culture. We develop our team — and give you a path to build a long-term career in sales consulting. We are 100% employee owned and will never be for sale.

As a Business Development Representative, you will be one of the most important pieces to our goals and future. You will be on the front lines creating high-quality opportunities that will convert into long-term and meaningful relationships.

This is a top-of-funnel role — you will identify, engage, qualify, and book meetings with CEOs and business owners who are struggling with sales performance, culture, consistency, or revenue growth.

Our Culture
  • We have leaders, not bosses
  • We lift as we climb
  • We have each other’s backs
  • We take responsibility
  • We make a major impact
  • We achieve our goals
  • We are employee-owned

About the Role

As a BDR, your mission is to open the right doors with the right prospects. You will create first conversations with executives, uncover potential business pain, and hand off qualified opportunities to our consulting team. You’ll use a mix of outbound calling, social outreach (especially LinkedIn), referral development, and targeted prospecting campaigns.

This is not a marketing MQL intake role — you will hunt, not wait.

What You’ll Do
  • Prospect through outbound calls, networking, email, LinkedIn, and referrals

  • Qualify business pain and prioritize fit before advancing prospects

  • Book first-time appointments for the consulting team

  • Consistently work a structured cadence and prospecting rhythm

  • Track and report activity and pipeline inside HubSpot

  • Collaborate with consultants to improve messaging and outreach

  • Participate in weekly skill development and coaching

About You
  • You are competitive, resilient, and comfortable with rejection

  • You are motivated by achievement and measurable targets

  • You don’t wait for leads — you create your own opportunities

  • You are coachable, self-aware, and take ownership for your results

  • You communicate well with executives and business owners

  • You are confident on the phone and on LinkedIn

  • You have the curiosity to uncover whether a prospect actually needs help — not just pitch

Requirements
  • Proven experience in outbound prospecting or lead generation

  • A track record of hitting or exceeding sales activity/meeting metrics

  • Experience generating your own leads (not just closing inbound)

  • B2B sales experience preferred

  • Selling to CEO/Owner-level buyers preferred

  • Experience using LinkedIn for prospecting preferred

  • Experience with conceptual or service-based selling is a bonus

Compensation
  • Base + commissions

  • Year 1 OTE: $90,000–$138,000

  • Clear path to promotion into Consultant track ($200,000+ long-term)

Benefits
  • 3% 401(k) match

  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)

  • Health and dental insurance

  • Personal development budget

  • Paid parental leave

  • President’s Club-style international trip for top performers

Why This Role Matters

At Lushin, we don't do “pitch training.” We create change. The BDR is the first impression of that change — the person who starts the conversations that lead to transformation inside companies.
