About Emerald AI

We’re at a pivotal moment for AI and energy. Demand for compute is skyrocketing, but power constraints are becoming a critical bottleneck. Emerald AI sits at the intersection of these two worlds, enabling AI data centers to scale without overwhelming the grid.

Our Emerald Conductor software platform makes data centers flexible and responsive, allowing them to adjust power usage dynamically. This unlocks massive AI growth without major new infrastructure, while also strengthening the grid and supporting the expansion of renewable energy.

We’re a team of experts across AI, cloud, software, and energy—on a mission to scale AI sustainably. We’re backed by leading investors and partners including Radical Ventures and NVIDIA.

About the Role

We are seeking an early BD & Strategy Partner to help drive Emerald AI’s commercial efforts and support the partnerships that will define our early market presence. You will contribute to shaping our go-to-market approach, building a pipeline of high-value opportunities, and ensuring our technology roadmap is informed by customer and partner needs.

You will work closely cross‑functional teams to ensure Emerald AI is building solutions that address urgent, high‑value problems and scale across target segments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Commercial Strategy: Contribute to the development of our Strategic Long Range Plan; support go‑to‑market strategy development, including segmentation, ICP refinement, and positioning for early adopter segments.

  • Build & Manage Pipeline: Identify, research, and engage prospective customers and strategic partners. Support moving opportunities from initial outreach through pilots and early deployments.

  • Develop Partnerships: Assist in identifying partnership opportunities, researching potential partners, and supporting relationship development and execution of partnership initiatives.

  • Market Intelligence & Insights: Gather and analyze market trends, competitive dynamics, and customer feedback to inform go‑to‑market priorities and strategic direction, in collaboration with Product Management.

  • Cross‑functional Collaboration: Partner closely with product and engineering teams, sharing market and customer insights to help inform product development and roadmap priorities.

  • Support Strategic Initiatives: Contribute to ad hoc workstreams such as fundraising support, board materials, industry conferences, grant applications, and other strategic initiatives.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, corporate strategy, management consulting, or a related field.

  • Experience working with or selling into large, complex customers and navigating multi‑stakeholder environments.

  • Familiarity with cloud services, data centers, or AI infrastructure ecosystems.

  • Exposure to early‑stage startups or high‑growth technology environments is a plus.

  • Knowledge of power markets and electric grids is optional and a plus.

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; ability to synthesize insights and support execution.

  • Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders.

What We Offer
  • Make an impact. Solve the AI power bottleneck and shape how data centers scale sustainably.

  • Join a world‑class team of AI, cloud, software, and energy experts in a collaborative, low‑ego environment.

  • Build from 0→1. Influence strategy, GTM, org design, and customer/investor engagement from day one.

  • Competitive pay + equity. Stock options let you share in the value you help create.

  • Comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) matching.

  • Flexible location. Work from D.C., Boston, or the Bay Area, with 2 WFH day/week.
