Job description

Business Development Representative (Founding GTM)
Austin, TX | Full-Time, On-SIte
$65K-$150K OTE
Open to New Grads!
About the Role
This is a ground-floor opportunity to join a well-funded, fast-growing insurance tech company that's reimagining how startups get covered. We're building something new, and we want early-career sales people who are hungry, coachable, and ready to grow fast.
You'll be one of the first Business Development Representatives (BDRs) on our Startup Insurance team, selling directly to startup founders and operators. This isn't a role where you inherit a polished playbook, you'll help build the outbound motion from scratch, with real support from sales leadership.
What You'll Do
  • Make outbound calls to startup founders and decision-makers daily
  • Book qualified meetings and join demos alongside Account Executives
  • Manage your pipeline in CRM and keep next steps current
  • Test and refine outreach messaging - track what works, cut what doesn't
  • Build product knowledge quickly so you can speak credibly with founders
  • Work closely with sales leadership to sharpen targeting and messaging

What We're Looking For
  • Motivated, fast learners who want a real career in sales
  • Comfortable with high-volume outreach and navigating rejection
  • Confident communicating with executives and founders
  • Self-directed, you take ownership without needing constant check-ins
  • Energized by building something new rather than following someone else's process

No insurance background required - we'll train you on the industry!
Compensation & Growth
  • $50k-65K base (with ramp) | $100-140K OTE | Uncapped commission
  • Strong performers move to Account Executive in ~3 months
  • Leadership paths available for those who want them
