Your Work Matters
As the Business Development Manager, you'll lead the team responsible for opening doors, building relationships, and expanding Floor & Decor's commercial footprint in markets that continue to evolve and grow. This is more than managing pipelines and sales activity - it's about helping businesses, contractors, and commercial partners find reliable solutions while building a scalable growth engine behind one of the fastest-growing brands in the industry.
Your Day Consists Of
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing Business Development Representatives to ensure consistent achievement of growth, pipeline creation, and account engagement goals
  • Conducting regular performance reviews, providing coaching, and ensuring adherence to effective prospecting, research, and territory strategy practices
  • Driving adoption and disciplined use of Salesforce CRM, ensuring data accuracy and pipeline integrity
  • Building and executing commercial market growth strategies across key verticals
  • Developing strategy playbooks for new market penetration, account qualification, and customer expansion
  • Reviewing team pipelines, forecasting accuracy, and opportunity progression to meet or exceed revenue targets
  • Serving as the liaison between Business Development Managers and Regional Account Managers, Operations, Support, and Sales Leadership
  • Partnering with merchandising, logistics, and operations to ensure commercial customer expectations are met
  • Ensuring alignment between inside-sales-driven efforts and field execution
  • Overseeing market research activities conducted by the team and synthesizing insights into actionable growth strategies
  • Monitoring competitor strategies, customer feedback, and emerging commercial construction trends to help shape strategic decisions
  • Supporting Business Development Managers in developing relationships with key decision-makers at target accounts
  • Attending strategic customer meetings and assisting with major presentations, escalations, and negotiations

You'll Be Successful With
  • 5-7+ years of business development, sales leadership, or account management experience, ideally within commercial flooring, building materials, construction, or related industries
  • Proven success leading high-performing sales or business development teams in growth-focused environments
  • Strong coaching, communication, and negotiation skills with the ability to influence across multiple levels of the business
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms to manage pipeline activity, forecasting, and customer engagement
  • The ability to analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitive insights to shape strategic action plans
  • A collaborative leadership style that balances accountability, relationship-building, and operational execution

PHYSICAL/SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
Medium Work - Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel.
