Job Summary
Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a full time Senior Manager of Business Development for our Bridgeton, MO facility. The Senior Manager of Business Development will be responsible for managing and conducting the evaluation and implementation of new initiatives and business opportunities under the direction of the senior business development leader or site lead. The role provides strategic and tactical direction to the business development function by evaluating growth initiatives, shaping capture approaches, and driving opportunity execution. This position conducts, and may oversee, market and competitive analysis, identifies and explores customer needs, and supports the planning, design, and implementation of business plans. The Senior Manager ensures follow-through on the Company's vision, strategies, and tactics by coordinating and facilitating commitments across internal departments/functions, developing and tracking project schedules, and participating in/leading strategic alliances and external business relationships. The role may manage Business Development staff, and decisions may significantly impact the overall success of a functional business unit. Preferred candidates will have prior DoD experience, ideally with some level of Fires and/or ADA (Air Defense Artillery) background, and/or experience/expertise in C-UAS (Count-Unmanned Aeriel System), SHORAD (Short-Range Air Defense), and related mission sets, or significant related industry experience in these areas.
Job Responsibilities
  • Manage and conduct the evaluation and implementation of new initiatives and business opportunities for the Company under the direction of senior business development leader or site lead
  • Provide strategic and tactical direction to the business development function by evaluating new initiatives and business opportunities
  • Conduct and may oversee the market analysis and competitive activity
  • Identify and explore customer needs
  • Provide assistance in the planning, designing, and implementing of business plans
  • Assist with the follow through and deployment of the Company's vision, strategies, and tactics
  • Coordinate and facilitate activities and commitments with other departments and/or functions
  • Develop and track project schedules
  • Participate/coordinate in strategic alliances and other external business relationships
  • May manage Business Development staff
  • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Make presentations on Company portfolio of products and services
  • Attend business meetings as requested
  • Attend trade shows
  • Analyze and have general understanding of the Government budgeting process

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Engineering or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Master's degree preferred
  • 10+ years of related experience
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation communication skills
  • Planning and organization, project management, and time management skills
  • Ability to work on complex problems
  • Knowledge of Company products, markets and technology
  • Strong analytical and financial skills
  • Willing and able to travel 25-50% of the time
  • DoD experience preferred

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
The salary range for this position is $130,828.00/year- $176,618.00/year for the State of Illinois. This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate's qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
