Job Description

The Sr. Business Development Analyst reports to the VP Business Development and has the primary task of working with the business development team to identify, assess and execute business development opportunities to support achievement of the business strategies through execution of strategic partnerships, investments, licensing, merger or acquisition by Olympus. The Sr. Business Development Analyst will leverage other business development team members to develop complex business cases, execute financial models, perform market research, and provide project management t to the cross-functional teams performing diligence/investigation of prospective opportunities. The chosen individual will own complex processes, influence strategies, and manage large-scale multi-national project.  This role requires strong organizational, modeling, analytic and conceptual skills to effectively execute their role for assigned projects. The Sr. Business Development Analyst should thrive on challenge in a results-driven culture and have a strong interest in further growing and developing in the areas of corporate and business development.

 
Job Duties
  • Work with the VP of Business Development and Business Development Deal Leads to drive productive interaction with leadership, defining strategic requirements and associated partnership or acquisition opportunities.
  • Prepare presentation materials for  meetings with Business Unit Marketing teams on Strategic Plans and drive the development of Business Cases for identified opportunities
  • Perform complex, holistic competitor, market, and internal analyses to identify, influence, and recommend Business development opportunities. Develop and manage the appropriate list of target M&A companies.
  • Build, maintain, and further grow a strong understanding of target markets and customer groups through a range of sources.
  • Maintain current knowledge of technology developments, trends, and the competitive environment in the medtech space.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve strong core models (financial, valuation, etc.) relevant to partnership or acquisition opportunities. Train others on best practices.
  • Perform strong project management for effective organization, management, and completion of due diligence of business development projects.  Drive assigned team's performance and influence decision-making based on outcomes aligned with business needs.
  • Support the Business Development team in other duties, as assigned by the Vice President of Global Business Development.
Job Qualifications
  • Required:
  • BS in business, accounting/finance, engineering, decision sciences, management science, economics or related quantitative field required.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of professional work experience, in the healthcare market.
  • Effective and efficient problem solving and analytical skills required.
  • Hands-on proficiency with spreadsheets, Excel macros, and the potential to use advanced decision support analytical tools (e.g., decision analysis software, Monte Carlo simulation, optimization) are critical.
  • Ability to conduct market, industry, and company research.
  • Ability to develop financial models and perform valuation of target companies.
  • Proven project management expertise.
  • Global mindset; works well with cross-border colleagues as well as local team members.
  • Effectively manages diverse stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Judgment and Decision Making: Must use judgment to make quick decisions that serve in the best interest of Olympus.
  • Self-Awareness: Must demonstrate maturity, high integrity, energy, and team spirit. Must possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Communication: Must possess effective presentation skills, as well as high-level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adaptability: Must be able to work in a dynamic, fast-changing environment.
  • Business and Financial Acumen: Must be able to implement feedback from team members and business leaders to build financial models and support materials. Attention to detail is critical.
  • 10% travel likely, both nationally and internationally.

  • Business development experience, in the healthcare market, preferred.
  • Project management experience preferred.

The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position in this location is $100,263.00 - $135,355.00 / year, plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
