Wisconsin Electric Power, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Business Analyst - Generation Reshaping/Very Large Customer in our Milwaukee, Wisconsin location. This position offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement (remote/on-site) with time spent in the Milwaukee office.   

This position is part of a job family (Associate Business Analyst, Business Analyst, Senior Business Analyst), where experience will be the determining factor.

Job Responsibilities

As a Business Analyst for the WEC Infrastructure and Fuels Team, you will be actively involved in supporting the key growth strategy for WEC Energy Group. The company is embarking on the largest capital growth plan in its history.  Specifically, this role will directly support the 5-Year Capital Generation Shaping Plan for renewable, battery and natural gas generation investments.  This is a high profile role which interfaces across all aspects of the business and offers significant long term growth opportunities.  Key responsibilities include:

  • Support of the WEC Energy Group's strategic generation asset acquisitions  
    • Coordinating with developers and internal/external subject matter experts to execute project due diligence activities. This includes partnering with Engineering, Finance, Tax, Environmental, and Interconnection teams to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.
    • Managing utility-scale and Distributed Energy Resource (DER) due diligence and Q&A processes to facilitate efficient information exchange between developers and subject matter experts.
    • Tracking, prioritizing, and driving resolution of open due diligence items to support timely agreement execution, transaction close, and commencement of commercial operations.
    • Participating in recurring developer meetings and providing updates on due diligence progress, key risks, and outstanding action items.
    • Provide Regulatory support around Public Service Commission of Wisconsin filings and data requests.
  • Maintain and distribute reports containing cost and schedule information to leadership and assisting work groups
  • Involvement with We Energies Very Large Customer tariff (VLC) business administration readiness activities, data aggregation/analysis and reporting needs
  • Support the team's continuous improvement efforts by offering perspective on reporting and process improvements, and in ensuring coordination and communication across assisting work groups as to project status, milestones and expectations
  • Develop functional, process, and system documentation
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Information Systems/Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline is required
  • The Associate Business Analyst is an entry level analyst position where relevant experience is preferred
  • Strong analysis, decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks under time constraints
  • Experience working with project management methodology preferred
  • Proficient in standard office software (MS Excel, Visio, Word)

Pay Range Minimum:  $68,436.68 

Pay Range Maximum:  $135,761.08 

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.  At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
