CNC Mill Operator (Night Shift) - Novi, Michigan
Contract position until October 18, 2026
Pay Rate: approximately $28.50-$32.50 per hour based on proven work history
*CNC Mill Operator (Night Shift) - working on large milling machine(s). Experience working on a large boring machine.
Summary of the CNC Mill Operator (Night Shift) :
Sets up, performs checks of routine programs, operates milling CNC vertical and horizontal machines to perform standard and repetitive sequences of operations to meet close tolerances and finish requirements. Mounts and secures fixtures and work piece and checks to establish reference points. Complete programming at machine using M&G code.
Duties and Responsibilities of the CNC Mill Operator (Night Shift) :
  • Selects, measures, assembles, and sets machine tooling, such as drill bits, milling or cutting tools, using precision gauges and instruments
  • Mounts, installs, aligns, and secures tools, attachments, fixtures on machine, using hand tools
  • Determines specifications, machine operation, workpiece dimensions, using blueprints, follow standard operating procedures
  • Performs controller programming at machine to position tools (X, Y, Z coordinates)
  • Measures dimensions of finished workpiece to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures
  • Monitors machine operation and control panel displays to detect malfunctions and compare readings to specifications
  • Maintains machine, removes, and replaces broken or worn machine tooling, using hand tools
  • Cleans machine, tooling, and parts
  • Report daily product achieved
  • Report Non-Conformances
  • Participate in continuous improvement processes and activities

Required Knowledge & Skills of the CNC Mill Operator (Night Shift) :
  • Ability to work independently with written and verbal direction
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Proficient math skills
  • Blueprint reading skills using both imperial and metric system

Required Qualifications (Education, Training, Certifications, Licenses, Experience) of the CNC Mill Operator (Night Shift) :
  • Minimum (4) years CNC Milling experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Vocational training preferred
